God Of War: Ascension vs. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Two very high-profile action extravaganzas are scheduled to launch in the first quarter of this year, but which one holds the edge in your mind? (God of War: Ascension, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

God of War.

After playing the Rising demo, I'm still more excited about GOW:A.
But I can't compare them and I don't think we should since both games aren't aiming for the same goals.

God Of War games are good but i find them similar to each other and way too easy even bosses don't have strategy it's like hit, block then qte

so.. fresh experience + depth of gameplay + challenge= Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance!

Do you ever have something nice to say? Everything Sony you put down.

j-blaze get back to the Xbox section of the site!

You don't know what you're talking about and you're always around to talk s**t about anything PlayStation related.

Well, he can't get GoW on PS3, so his only choice is MGS:R. The demo was prett fun though!

That is the least accurate description of God of War I think I've ever read. From my recollection of the series, each one has been different to the other and none of them can be described as easy. The gameplay is refined and although at its core remains the same, the appeal is in the story, the violence and the gameplay refinement.

MGR, simply because there aren't very many NEW action games. I'm not saying new is automatically better, but I know what to expect from GOW, and MGR's potential is more compelling from what i've played.

God of War: Ascension for me easily.

Stop making useless articles like these. Those two titles are extremely different in a way. The new God of War has been the third 6th or 7th title in the series, thus giving developers overall more practice. Revengence however is a side-story, where developers worked on something that didn't have anything to do with stealth, and more about cutting people up.

Yeah I will be getting both games since they offer completely different experiences even though they are in the same genre.
If that makes sense? lol
Murad  +   546d ago
Nah man, that totally make sense. I think of Revengence as aesthetics, and combining not only dodging, but also the ideas from Bayonetta in some ways. GoW, I feel is more for the story, and the multiplayer. I'm not doubting the developers overall scheme by any point, but I feel that the overall fighting will be sorted of degraded as compared to GoW 3, but I'm still looking forward to what might happen to kratos.

I'm getting both & they'll both be enjoyable experiences!!

I prefer God of War.

Omg Revengeance demo was awful...you legit have like 2 moves that feel awkward, some powerups that dont seem like the fit gameplay and enemies that just everything seem unbalanced. I was utterly disappointed. It looks nice and that's about it. There's a reason GOW sells 4 million copies whenever a new title is released. God of War is the ideal hack n slash action game.

i'm getting both ...win/win for me :)
