Let’s Rank the Pokémon Games, Best to Worst

Kotaku: We did it with Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and Final Fantasy, and now we're back at it again to rank the Pokémon series.

The Pokémon world is an enormous one, one that spans over 20 core titles (mostly with slight variations) and countless other side stories (30 by my count), but for newcomers into the series, it seems like an overwhelming lot to comprehend. So let's say you're a new player to the series, or an old hand looking to restart on the road to the Pokémon League—allow me to rank the series so you can catch 'em all the best.

My Top 3 are:

3. Pokemon Red/Blue
2. Pokemon Silver/Gold
1. Pokemon Yellow

Yellow was almost my number 2 but having pikachu follow you made it for me.

Gold and Silver were amazing, the pokemons were still imaginative and having a day/night cycle & cell phone, that was amazing for a pokemon game

This list is almost completely accurate to if I made this very list. I played the 3rd generation the most though.

Every Generation is good I put 100s of hrs into each but gen 3 has be my favorite. Emerald!

My favorite gen was Gold/Silver.

I think my least favorite was Diamond/Pearl.

Pokemon Flora Sky and Pokemon Liquid Crystal are my favorite... Though they arnt official.

Why is R/S/E so high up on this list? It took out more features than it added. No doubt that D/P/P should have been higher than it.

Crystal hands down the two regions when I played it as a child blew me away still play it on my phone with 300+hrs.
