The Daily Hotness: Which Dante is best?

So Spencer Hayes and co. took to the streets of San Francisco to find out which Dante is best, DmC or Devil May Cry. The resulting footage is hilarious. Blood spurt is clearly the character of 2013. Though, my vote goes forever to Alighieri, but apparently he's not in the running.

Plus, they went and used probably the worst picture of Dante they could have used, but found probably the best picture of Donte.

Do this again with Uncle Dante from DMC4, and you know for sure the results would different. OR, do one with Vergil from DMC3 and Vorgil from DmC.

I prefer new Dante :x There's something insanely cheesy about a guy that strikes an old school disco pose and yells out 'This party's gonna rock!' That isn't to say one is 'better' than the other, just that I don't find the DMC 1,2,3,4 as attractive or aesthetically pleasing as DmC Dante.

Exactly! The fact that Capcom are actually trying to make DmC Dante an actual serious character is partially what makes him so unappealing. (I say partially because there are many other reasons to dislike him.)

If there's one thing I hate about this generation of movies and games, it's how gloomy, gritty and serious many of them are. Anything that's fun or cheesy is seen as lame. What's wrong with silliness or cheesiness? Is our generation so screwed up that we refuse to like characters who are designed to make us laugh? :(

old dante, personality wise he was great i get tired of overtly serious gritty,dark,psychopathic characters,thats why dante was such a badass,and he could be very elegant even while diising you unlike "Dante", you know it astounds me as to how people hate the 2008 prince but love the new dante, 2008 prince was funny, and badass at the same time, he never had to resort to swearing like a douche or over acting to make himself seem cool,unlike "Dante".

While I greatly disapprove of taking an idea or concept and altering it nearly making the original property almost unrecognizable and mainly just alienating fans to begin with (What is the point?). Capcom has made their choice.

Also, the guy did choose a pretty awful picture of old Dante. DmC3 Dante isn't Dante's best look. I wonder if the results would have been different if a picture of DMC1 or DMC4 Dante was used. Or if they used the beat-up, jail-cell picture of new Dante.

Hey atleast the new DmC is not as lame as was the 2008 prince of Persia reboot. That game was horrible. I like both Dantes. People complain about the new Dante swearing that's pathetic. It's not like any of those people ever said I bad word in their lives. Their just still butthurt. Gta has a lot of swearing yet no complains. But still dam you N4G quite making The DmC anti mad can't you see their already enough butthurt as it is.

its opinionated but the pop08 reboot was great the only bad thing was the combat, besides that the game had a better set of villians heck you would even feel sorry for some, a much better story, the protagonist were great the prince was funny and clearly hiding his past from elika, and elika was an amazing partner, the game stayed true to PoP as well no longer gritty like WW, had the enviormental puzzles, had the acrobatic prince, had the platforming that prince of persia is known for, besides the dante swearing thing is annying not because its out of character for dante but because it feels very forced and is used way to much,it just comes off as immature, and poserish, and comparing the swaering in GTA isnt even good, yeah they curse alot in GTA but not as constant as Dante does, and besides its in certain situations instead of just swearing to be seen as a edgy cool kid.

I don't think a character like Dante needs to be this closely examined. He's there to hold some guns and a sword to we can kill stuff.
