Crysis 3 Open Beta Gameplay

PGN - The Crysis 3 open beta is finally underway with the Xbox 360 and PC version already available to download. For those who play on the Playstation 3, you can expect the beta to be up and running once the weekly store update has been published. Here's some gameplay to keep you busy until then. (Crysis 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Seems... average? Definitely nothing special, just another FPS. No longer the pinnacle of graphics either.

I can't imagine how much worse it would be if EA owned Crytek.

Played it on PC.

Its pretty much just Crysis 2..
- Same menu,
- Same gunsounds
- Same Gun models
- Same animations.
Etc etc.

Im dissapointed, considering im a huge Crysis 1 fan.

I agree, this game came out so fast after the last Crysis. Seems almost like an extension of Crysis 2.

actually, the mp seems quite interesting compared to the one of crysis 2. It has some cool modes. but this was just deathmatch so I guess it's nothing special.

From what I've seen the cryengine 3 seems to be above the other engines, but I'm not a graphics enthusiast, so I'm not sure.

I really like the level...but that's about it

So far, matches are too short. Guess that's just the Battlefield in me talking. There's no time to... relish your victory.

Recoil also, no dice.

Otherwise pretty fun, grass needs work or removal. Would prefer no 2D grass objects than ones that are aliasing like bejesus.

Also, interface streamlining would help, every game could take a note from CoD in this regard (but ONLY this), it's just too messy and disorganized (Battlefield 3 is no exception, but as I've heard it was developed by some other group.

Destructive cover of some sort would be nice.

Oh well, next gen is around the corner and all my prayers will be answered... though interface issues are never acceptable, yet they continue to occur.

I've always said this, CoD menus are really good. Not only are they easy to navigate, but the time between launch and being in a game is at least twice as short as any other game I've played (pc or console)

Looks.......boring

It isn't amazingly entertaining, but the mobility aspect alone gives it a nice edge and this was only a single level.

I think the game would benefit a lot from darker levels though.

Maybe ditch the whole Crysis "motif" and just make it a sci-fi shooter with CoD-like customization options. Difference being, mobility aspect, improved visuals (hopefully), and all the bells and whistles a sci-fi shooter could employ.

I believe your scifi COD hybrid answers will be answered in the future. Rumor is that the former founders of Infinity Ward that formed Respawn are working on that very type of game you hint at.

I like the look of it, especially the airport.Gonna buy it for single player, thought the multiplayer was dull. I does look good on max settings though.

Its pretty decent once you unlock the 1st AR. Loved getting air stomps on people. levels could be smaller. Its runs better than crysis 2 even when people have 1 bar

New stuff, um the hopping and shooting stuff to avoid being shot... yeah, THAT never gets old...

Game, at least with my setup, just looks a bit washed out, granted I can't touch the Ultra High settings and get playable performance (though that changes by tomorrow HAHAHAH! XFX HD 7950 on the WAY)

far cry 3 (multi) and crysis 3's sprinting feels really slow and unrespossive. anybody else thinks that?
pgnuk  +   812d ago
There are a lot of issue's right now with SLI. but the game is looking better than the last one.
SolidDuck  +   812d ago
I wish shooters would get rid of the invisibility stuff. It's cheap.
pandehz  +   812d ago
The nanosuit sprinting is ok but wish they had brought back maximum speed.

Besides that the mulitplayer is very fast. Feels like cod but slightly faster and more hectic with ppl zipping around, jumping etc Theres a slight scope for mistakes in positioning yourself as autoarmor helps out sometimes but thats good, gives everyone a fair chance against some camping.

Hunter mode is pretty good. Makes me quite nervous. Graphically its pretty solid. Water is awesome, vegetation feels dense and it seems they have a memorable art style going for it now. Crysis 2 I only could remember the enemies besides that everything was just realism imitation. Here the museum map has a creepy feel with barren trees etc

Has a nice atmosphere to it.

Hmm
Just played it earlier. It was a huge let down (xbox360) Same poor connections as Crysis2 and easy head shots that clearly weren't head shots. I do like how after the match they focus on your kills.
