Five Games I’m Horribly Ashamed Of Never Finishing

Kotaku: Piles of shame, by definition, are shameful. But while untouched games in cellophane taunt and beckon , there’s a special circle of torment reserved for the games we started, but didn’t finish. Games we enjoyed, maybe even loved, but abandoned before completion.

It’s too late now! We can’t go back. Too much time has passed… things have changed, we have changed. The world has moved on yet we — a couple of hours shy of resolution — have to live with the fact that we have left an incredible game unfinished. We’ve tarnished a holistic experience and we’re bad bad people.

I may be one of the worst offenders. With too many games and too little time, I start almost every major release yet seldom finish them. Among these hundreds, however, are a handful of games that resonate — games I am genuinely ashamed I gave up on. These are the top five. (Batman: Arkham Asylum, GameCube, PC, PS2, PS3, Shadow of the Colossus, The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Xbox 360)

Didnt finish GTA4 but im not ashamed. That game was an extremely boring affair!!!!
FriedGoat  +   765d ago
Yes! Too much realism made the game extremely boring. Or maybe it was the fact I can't relate to annoyingly voiced immigrants. Who knows. All I know is the physics were fun for a while, but the game was boring. Viva la San Adreas!

Tales of Abyss on 3DS for me.I wanted to play it but it bored the snot out of me.Same with Persona 3.
Blank  +   765d ago
Hey I dont know how you stopped playing persona 3 its story is engrossing! Not that im trying to tell u what to do.... But go back and finish it the ending will leave you satisfied you did ; )

I really tried to finish Tales of the Abyss, too. But I also got bored of it (the only Tales games I ever finished and really liked were Symphonia and its sequel).

The games in Persona series have a problem that they start really great, but halfway through them, I just want to finish them fast. The games are good, I'm playing 4 Golden right now, but there comes a time that I get tired of building the many S. Links and just want to see the end of the plot.

Mind has to be Heavenly Sword, I got no idea what I was thinking.

Unreal Tournament 3, I got it for X-Mas/Christmas and never gave it a shot.

I felt guilt not only because I didn't play them, but because these where gifts by my mom and brothers, I never played them in front of them.

It is not possible for me to not finish a game even if I don't like it I must beat it so I can move on to the next game.
lol i'm exactly the same.... Like video games are levels in our lives lol. ugh is there something wrong with us? :(
CaptainYesterday  +   765d ago
I think it's a good thing to need to finish games how could that be a bad thing! There's definitely nothing wrong with us :)
vickers500  +   765d ago
Wish i was like that. I have so many unfinished and barely played games that just sit there as a constant reminder of how much money I've wasted. To finish all of them I'd probably have to give up new releases for at least a year, most likely more.

Final Fantasy 7. Ive only put a half hour in the game, but ill get around to it eventually...
TXIDarkAvenger  +   765d ago

I've beat Demon Souls twice, but have yet to get the plat (So I don't class it as finished yet) I've spent over 2 years on and off trying for that f***ing Pure Bladestone, the drop rate is a joke >:(

brandonb21  +   765d ago
i never finished gta 4
greatcrusader44  +   765d ago
I too never beat Metroid Prime, and its even more sad because I stopped because I couldn't beat METROID PRIME, I even got to its last stage once and something happened and never returned to it.

Same as Chrono Trigger, did every single Side quest, revived Chrono, went through the Black Fortress, got all the way to Lavos, went in his Shell, killed the Lavos inside it, but never killed him when he split up into those three things. Never finished it.

Skyrim is another one, I played about 250hrs in multiple accounts. Something always bugs me, one moment I want to be a Khajiti the other I want to be something else. Same goes with being a Mage, archer, swordsman, I change my mine quick. I need help.

I never finished San Andreas. I am now in that part where you have to have good swimming skill to play that mission. It just sounds boring to get better skill in swimming.
