Geekpulp writes "Patapon is one of those games that is hard to get out of your head once you have played it. This is not only because its quirky music quickly ingrains itself into your brain (and it will), but also due to it being amazingly addictive and fun. It provides an interesting blend of gameplay elements that span many genres. So much so that's it hard to fit it into any existing genre. The briefest description I can think of is that its a "strategy rhythm action game with RPG elements".
It has already drawn many comparisons to LocoRoco, a very popular game by the same developer. However, similarities only go as far as the cutesy flat shaded art style. Even then, LocoRoco has a significantly more chirpy atmosphere than Patapon."
