No Matter The Age, Everyone’s A Gamer - 84 Year-Old Grandpa Having The Time of His Life

Premier Gaming Network - At some point in our lives we have all been told to grow up and stop playing video game. Video games, a thing for "children' as most would tell you in today's business world. Not only is that just plain wrong, but an 84 year-old Grandpa demonstrates just how exciting gaming can be, even when your way past the hill. (3DS, Culture, Nintendo DS, PC, PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Brilliant good for him, it's weird thinking that in the future when the generation of gamers from the 1980s and 1990s grow old we will be the first bunch of old people that will be gaming when we are in our 70s and 80s and beyond and will be able to kick the young generations ass at games what with games getting easier. :)

If I didn't have to work I'd be having the time of my life as well.

Him and that 87 y/o gaming granny should hook up for some "Marigold Hotel" style loving!

On a more serious note, research has shown an increase in synaptic aptitude and other cognitive skills from gaming. It keeps the mind sharp! He also looks like he's keeping trim and eating well. Let's not forget our bodies need care too.

This is great.

jeffgoldwin  +   944d ago

When most people watch Jurassic Park, they remember the 90s.
When this guy watches Jurassic Park, he remembers his childhood friends.
Sketchy_Galore  +   944d ago
He used to hang out with Jeff Goldblum?
jeffgoldwin  +   944d ago
"When this guy watches Jurassic Park, he remembers his childhood friends."

How does that old guy know the actors from that movie?

Oh look. ANOTHER n4g article that was actually just a copy/paste job from Reddit.
ZidaneNL  +   944d ago
I honestly couldn't care less. I'd rather have copy/pasted news that put a massive smile on my face than a dozen shitty blogs.
Nitrowolf2  +   944d ago
exactly what was copied and paste from that? They linked Reddit, and seeing that it can't be used as a source here I don't see the issue. Like ZidaneNL said, its better than all those rumor stories and such
CommonSense  +   943d ago
because you come here as a first source of new news. but really, it's a few hours behind because reddit has already posted it.

it also means the "contributors" here are not doing anything special or anything that even requires work. they just sit on reddit in the various gaming subreddits and click refresh on the "new" tab.

which basically makes n4g a subreddit with a lot of stupid commenting rules.

I'm 39 and still play , last night fell asleep while playing Mass Effect 3 though. Getting harder to stay awake while playing.
Highlife  +   944d ago
I'm 34 with a bunch of kids so when I finally have time for a break nothing relieves stress like gaming.
Psychotica  +   944d ago
I am 46 and still play daily, better than just sitting there watching tv night after night.
clarkjudo  +   944d ago
This AWESOME .... . Anyone know what game they are playing? I am guessing HALO 4.

I am 40 years old and I hope to be able to play at this rate of enjoyment like this grandfather is at his age, LOL. And I think at that time I do reach his age. Virtual reality would have been a reality for some time already. :)
Despair666  +   944d ago
That will be me in 60 years
Lvl_up_gamer  +   944d ago
Well it's on the 360 so it makes sense. Just too bad he wasted all those years playing on other systems until he finally was introduced to the 360 and started living.

The Power of HALO. 8)

Only on the 360.

The 85-year old granny was playing on the PS3 playing games like Disgaea 4 and is even a plus member and she started living.

Only on the PS3 would you find better quality.
jeffgoldwin  +   944d ago
Skyrim and every other multiplatform game is waving you over to talk about Ps3 quality.
Highlife  +   944d ago
Even here you have to lower yourself *to* fanboy drivel. Simply WOW!

We need a geezer guild on some big mainstream MMO. I had a 72 year old woman in my EQ2 guild. Druid Paladin if I recall.

"The 85-year old granny was playing on the PS3"

LMFAO that about says it all
Bumpmapping  +   943d ago
Imagine if he was playing the PS3 he would have a heart attack playing greatest game this generation Uncharted 2.

Only on the PS3.
WPX  +   944d ago
Awesome. I look forward to seeing myself still gaming at that age (and kicking my grand and great-grandchildren's asses in every game) too.
ApolloTheBoss  +   944d ago
Show this to the politicians. Love to them react to this lol.
lovegames718  +   944d ago
Im 34 and still gaming hard. Most my friends on my ps3 list are in their late 20's or 30's and enjoy gaming more than the average youngster because they have the ability to buy all the new games and really have cool setups.

For example i myself just bought myself a optoma hd20 1080p projector with a 120 inch screen and gaming on it is awesome!!!!
KevPC  +   944d ago
cool grampa but i feel he would enjoy a game that isn't shooters better... i bet he would love uncharted.
pgnuk  +   944d ago
There is no stopping some people, i bet he will take that to his grave!
