Your Favorite Zelda Game Could Have Looked Like THIS

Kotaku: Flipping through the Hyrule Historia book (which you can finally get in English) makes you realize that Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series isn't just a bunch of games. It's a mythology, one filled with personas that change their shapes, personalities and abilities in each new telling.

Anyone who's been a die-hard Zelda fan has had questions pop up while playing the games: Why did Link's shield change size? How long has the idea of an adult Link been floating around? Is he taller than Luigi? The extremely pretty tome dedicated to the ins and outs of Nintendo's iconic adventure franchise—which comes out tomorrow—reveals answers to some of those burning questions. And those answers come in the form of rarely seen and cool-looking concept art pulled from Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and other Zelda titles. (3DS, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Retro, The Legend of Zelda, Wii)

i wish they would just keep toon link on the handhelds & the mature look for home consoles.. Why windwaker HD?!?!?! The game was great n all but damnit.. Theyre doing the same thing like when the gamecube tech demo was made with link fighting gannon.. Then popped up windwaker & toward the end of GC life, Twilight finally came.. Twilight princess or even skyward sword wouldve been better if remade.. They could keep that art style for the DS/3DS

Blow it out your a** man. The Wind Waker is a master piece in every single sense. The art is absolutely flawless and because of its cell graphics, it quite literally cannot age in terms of looks.

I want a Wind Waker 2, call it whatever you want, but the art-style just works so damn well.

You're getting a little riled up over somebody's opinion there, bud.

I prefer the more serious style myself which is still stylized, just doesn't look like a kid's cartoon. Artistic style is something I pay a lot of attention to in gaming.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Every single one.

I agree with DA. I thought OoT and Twilight Princess were far better than Wind Waker. I hated all the sailing. It took ages to get anywhere and just seemed like and excuse to make the world bigger.
I'm not a fan of Cel Shading (I know there are some great games out there).

Wind Waker was great except for all the excessive sailing. It diluted the experience for me somewhat.

It's a great game that didn't get the love it deserved. The initial screens of the remake look amazing, and if you go back there were times the visuals got fuzzy, or colors dull. OoT for 3DS sold about 2.7 million worldwide in a year (for a 2nd remake of the original as well), Nintendo is probably looking for a similar success story. Nintendo Direct gave the notion that Zelda will be changed significantly, think of this as the farewell voyage.

Sure it's not a "New" Zelda, but it is Zelda nontheless. And for it to be an underrated and underappreciated Zelda is somewhat more special. You can already play Twilight Princess through the WiiU back-compatibility, but you can't with Windwaker. For many this will be their prime opportunity

The art style doesn't matter to me. They all looked good in one way or another.

However, Zelda's games are getting easy as eating cakes and the bosses are becoming a joke. Plus the normal enemies are just there to waste your time not to give you a challenge.

I remember the bosses and enemies were challenging back in A Link to the Past, and it made the game more exciting.
