BeamNG’s Next-Generation Soft-body Physics Engine Gets New Footage

DSOGaming writes: "Okay PC gamers, we’ve got some bad and some good news for you today. The bad news is that BeamNG’s drooling physics engine will be moving from CryEngine 3 to the Torgue 3D engine. The good news is that BeamNG is preparing a new racing game that will take advantage of this extraordinary physics engine, and released a new video that can be viewed below." (Cryengine 3, Next-Gen, PC, PS3, Torgue 3D, Xbox 360)

Yes, but I'm sure they'll tighten it up, Their game doesn't look very far along.

THIS is the video that everyone should be watching to understand the physics.

ZzZzZzZzZzZz....Wow, a truck driving, can't wait for next-gen.

Yea maybe all they showed was a truck driving down the road but have you seen the soft-body physics video? those crashes look incredible. I'm no computer expert, but im sure those types of physics are to complex for current gen console.

Clearly they are, doesn't mean it makes for an interesting video demonstration. It could have at least exploded for no reason at the end...

I agree they should have showed a different video even though this was BeamNG latest one. people in N4G tend to be prejudice because, like you said, the car could have at least exploded at the end...

That's bad news? Cryengine is nothing but a resource hog of an engine, give me an engine that can run games 60+fps any day over one that looks a bit better but runs like crap.

Anyhow, i can't wait to see what Source engine 2 is like, now that will rock. I'll upgrade my graphics card for sure when that one is released.

The crash physics on the video below is impressive but this video is nothing to write home about...

This engine opens up a lot of possibilities. This latest footage may be a bit boring (like real-life that can be sometimes as boring as hell) but the engine is truly stunning http://www.youtube.com/watc...

looks good. tighten it up a tiny bit and it's real good. That was the most realistic causal driving I've seen in a game/demo though.
