Trademark Hints at the Return of Drakengard

While fans continue to petition Square Enix for a re-make of Final Fantasy VII, the publisher may be reviving another of its classic franchises. A recent trademark filed by the company suggests that the PlayStation 2 classic Drakengard (known as Drag-On Dragoon in Japan) could be marked for re-release. (Drakengard, PS2, PS3)

I loved both of these games... I would LOVE an HD remake, and a Drakengard 3 would be EPIC!... So long as Caim returns.

Buddy, we both know that Caim wouldn't make a return, remeber, you kill Angela halfway through the game. Hell Ciam even says 'thank you' before he dies.

I know... But that was the saddest scene in gaming to me. I want him back!

Please let someone other than Square work on it...

Let them hire someone from the Panzer Drgoon series at least. The whole team.

I played Drakengard 1 but not 2. Squarenix did good on one why change teams. Even if the panzer dragoon series was good they are 2 different games.

square is no longer what it once was.

It would be nice if it was that SE wanted to sell the previous Drakengard games as a download game. That way they could get people into the series so they could put out a new one.

The first one was good but they need to improve the camera, the vertical axis didn't work as it should today.
And I'm not sure the game had checkpoints either, but maybe that was only in the 2nd.

GTFO ... this best be real... but.. we might never get it outside Japan since it does not have lightning in it... PUT LIGHTNING IN IT SO WE CAN GET IT haha.

Interesting but will it remain exclusive to PS or will SE make it multiplatform?

The first time I played it I was amazed at the graphics and high level of enemies. I liked returning to level up my weapons and dragon. It got a tad bit repetitive though towards the end. Would love to see a Drakengard 3. I felt that the controls for the dragon were also pretty good.

Maybe a PS2 classic. But this is SE we're talking about so maybe it's a mobile / social games.

YES PLEASE I WANT A NEW ONE. Nier was amazing, don't get me wrong, but I wanna fly on a dragon again and effectively destroy the world again :(
