Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Review | Mature Gaming

In the great console war of this generation, if Sony ever needed to fire a fatal shot, then loading Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch up into a PS3 would be enough ammunition to settle the score once and for all.

This game IS the ICO of this generation. (Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, PS3) 5/5

" This game IS the ICO of this generation "

*An RPG that has stopped the JRPG from getting the life sucked out of the genre by a myriad of quality first person RPG’s that are available on this generation’s console.*

my copy should arrive today
for who is playing it ...is it really ICO of this gen ?!

I am playing it right now. I'm about 15 hours in so far. It's been a great game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. They took a few risks with the game that paid off well. The game plays well, has a great story, makes me care about the characters and their cause, and is just fun. Oh, and I really like the art style they chose.

It depends what you mean by the ICO of this generation, but it's definitely a quality game. I'm glad I picked it up on the first day.

what about the gfx ?! is it really a painting come to life as the videos show ??

Strangely enough I feel the game looks worst during it's 2D cutscenes, the in-game engine looks so beautiful they suffer in comparison.

@Ezz. Not a painting, but a living breathing Studio Ghibli film. If you are a fan of those films, you will absolutely love this game.

Ezz2013,

I think that the graphics are amazing. I keep seeing these amazing scenes. You just keep thinking to yourself, "wow that just looks amazing".

It has two different kinds of styles though. One is used in most of the game, but the other is used during certain cut scenes. The one in cutscenes looks very cartoonish(I can't think of the right word). But it looks cartoonish in a great way. I remember seeing the first cutscene and just thinking that it was incredible. But the in game graphics are stunning. They picked a perfect art style for the game. You will be awestruck by some of the scenes in the game.

It's Pokemon mixed with FF9, spent around 12 hours so far and it's damn good. It's actually challenging on normal difficulty too, which is a nice change of pace.

I'm a huge fan of FF9 so I'm glad to hear that.
Next friday is really dragging for us in the EU!

It mixes Tales with Pokemon, has towns, lots of exploration with none of those linear corridors, and likable characters.
