Struggling To Care About Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance | Gamers Association Preview

Gamers Association editor Luke Frazier writes: "Despite it all, my undying optimism doesn't change the fact that it's tough to identify the target audience for Revengeance. Stealth and Snake appeal to franchise fans, and neither are apparent here in any meaningful way. Similarly, action enthusiasts unfamiliar with the lore have scores of games with more enjoyable combat systems to choose from beyond this spin-off. For the final time, I ask again: Is there someone out there anticipating Metal Gear Rising?

Or is this interest gap the reason why Kojima canceled Metal Gear Solid: Rising in the first place?" (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PS3, Xbox 360)

He says it's hard to tell what the targeted audience is for this game. This is why he calls the demo stupid.. Obviously it's aimed towards hack&slash gamers. The demo tells me it's already better then gaiden 3. Any one can see that it's not a stealth game, so why can't YOOOOUUUU.

I...yeah. Actually, I'm getting sick of writing negative previews, and even any sort of opinion piece complaining overall. This industry has enough negativity without me encouraging more. Time to get positive.

I stopped reading when he said no lock on. R2 or RT is the lock on button.

My mistake. I was having early issues with it, quit using the thing, and forgot it even existed. Blurb has been removed, though it doesn't impact my main points. Regardless, thank you for the clarification.

It doesn´t impact your main points ( but i wouldn´t know about the rest of your points), but it makes us wonder how serious should we take an opinion on something, when the person with said opinion is not fully informed on the subject.
Either way, i´m glad my comment served a purpose.

If the lock-on feature would have altered my stated opinions significantly, I would have been more clear about it from the start. Regardless, I completely understand where you're coming from. Apologies.
