"With the announcement of two new Zelda games, it’s about time to take a look back at which games were the greatest in the series. Since Zelda is known for its quality among adventure games, picking the games on this list was incredibly difficult. However, the final list is full of deserving games. Here are the top four Legend of Zelda games published to date." | Explosion.com
My order would be
1.Ocarina of time
2.Skyward sword
3.Majoras Mask
4.AlTTP
I own and have finished every proper entry into the Zelda series Portable or Handheld. Every single game is a masterpiece lol.
2. Windwaker
3. Twilight Princess
2. The Wind Waker
3. Majora's Mask
4. Oracle of Seasons
Wind Waker
Ocarina of Time
Sky Ward Sword
I played them all apart form Oracle of the seasons, Lttp is the one that set the benchmark for the rest to follow
Even though a lot of people disliked the three day time limit, I really enjoyed it. It has one of the best and most character-driven plots in any Zelda game, imo. The game is darker and more mature than OoT, and the constant eerie feeling of dread and foreboding is just amazing. I only wish the next Zelda game was more like MM (especially when it comes to characterization and character interaction), but on a grander scale.
Skyward Sword
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
2. Majora's
3. OoT
4. ALTTP
Wind waker
Skyward sword
Oot
3. The Wind Waker
2. A Link to the Past
1. LoZ (NES)
2. Minish Cap
Those are the only Zelda games I have played
1.Twilight princess
2.Skyward sword
3.Windwaker
4.ocarina of time.
Sadly I have not had the chance yet to play majoras mask or link to the past.
2.Skyward sword
3.Majoras Mask
Seriously, though, I'd say the last 5 (main) games are all way up there for me. I've never played a Zelda game that wasn't great.
02. Ocarina of Time
03. Majora's Mask
04. Adventures of Link
1: Ocarina of Time- This game started it all for me in so many ways. I owe this game a lot. Everything about this game was awesome. From the characters to the music. What's crazy is, I've beaten this game at least 15 times, yet I still find at least one new tidbit that I didn't know was there before.
2: Wind Waker- This game came a hell of a lot closer to OoT for me than I ever thought it would. For me personally, I was really engaged in the story. I loved Tetra because it was so refreshing to see a Zelda with personality. Some of the gameplay mechanics were awesome, as well.
3: Skyward Sword- The combat in this one was so much fun. I also liked how Zelda and Link had a more intimate dynamic than in most games. I thought they did a good job with the motion controls, as well.
4: Majora's Mask- Loved the sheer amount of optional content in this game. Some of the quests were memorable. I liked how sad it was at times. Until then that was never really explored in Zelda games. Fierce Diety link is amazing.
So those are my four. Like I said, I love almost every Zelda game I've played, so this was very difficult, especially the #4 spot.
2)majoras mask
3)twlight princess
4)oot or skyward sword cant decide :o
Im still playing skyward sword
and the gameplay was annoying at first...well mostly because Im playing it exclusively on treadmill... but I grew to enjoy the controls. The graphics are alright but the remind me of mario which is not something i wanted ever in a zelda game. either really cute or really dark. mixing them doesnt appeal to me :/
Ground breaking. First Open world exploration.
2) Skyward Sword
Felt like the first Zelda + added most of the good from other Zeldas/ and Learned to Loved Motion Controls.
3) OoT
Hated it at 1st. Took me a while to get used to the 3Dness. Then months later I picked it and saw how glorious it was.
4) Zelda 2
I loved RPGs at the time. This was a great filler for Final Fantasy. I loved the fight mechanics- Swing H&L, Block H&L, Down-stab, Up-Stab it was kind of Double Dragony- it took a little skill, like Skyward Sword. The magic system gave options and new ways to solve problems. Great RPG elements and great puzzles.
5) WW
After Space World sadness it took me a while to get the style. I did not like the repetitiveness of changing wind direction or the long sailing. But once I got on dry ground I had mad-fun. loved the combat system.
6) TP
Pretty and kind of gritty. It was stuck between greatness and limitations. There was something empty about Hyrule Field and it bothered me. And the art-style kind of bugged me too (even though I was one of the people who wanted a more realistic take..)
7) LttP
I wasn't Zelda 1 or Zelda 2. And the boulders looked stupid. I kept comparing the Mode 7 graphics with Final Fantasy's Mode 7 and I thought Square's was better.
(MM does not count).
