What we want to see from Wind Waker HD

GamesRadar - Everyone expected the Wii U would get its own Zelda eventually, but no one saw this coming. While people wait for an entirely new Zelda in the console’s far-off future, Nintendo is tiding fans over by returning to the franchise’s past in an HD port of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It's scheduled to hit the console by end of 2013, and the early footage looks gorgeous.

Well for starters, how about putting the GBA functionality from the original version into the gamepad screen? Perhaps gyro controls like in OoT3D? Those would be a nice upgrades, I think.

ElectricKaibutsu4107d ago

Good idea. I'd be surprised if they didn't do both.

I liked some of the ideas in the article, though seem pretty unlikely. Such as: including 4 Swords Adventure with online co-op and including the original untouched graphics as an option.

I'm hoping they add orchestral tracks like they did with Skyward Sword.

I personally, hope this is something Nintendo continues with maybe even before and after ww HD.
I would love to see new HD remastered GameCube games much like Sony does with their line of ps2 HD collections.

I'm sure games like wave race blue storm, smash bros. melee, luigi's mansion amd more from gc's back catalogue would look amazing and give wiiU owners like myself great games to play while the brand new installments are still being worked on.

I am conflicted. I personally like the screens of the remake, but I am also sad they removed the toonshading. I would of loved those vibrant colors in HD more so than this crytec-like enhancement to the artstyle.

I hope they put the cut content in the game. WW was the shortest zelda because of time constraints and disc storage. even if they only add it to a new master quest will suite me. also thumbs up to original graphics option and four swords adventures online.

I'd like to be able to play the original version on 3ds.

I'd put Street Fighter 2 over 3. 2 and all its different versions dominated the arcade scene back in the day in a way that 3 never did.

Agreed, Same with Metal Gear Solid imo. Came for Bioshock and was not disappointed. Would easily put Burger Time or Space Taxi over tempest. Also, OG Sim City and Oregon Trail. Mario 64 as well. Just too many!

Never played it I gotta get on this one

Double_O_Revan172d ago

Me too. I didn't have a GC until way later and never played it. I've been waiting on Nintendo to release the HD edition on the Switch for forever, but they just won't!

FinalFantasyFanatic172d ago

I never bought a Gamecube, I've always had an urge to play this game, maybe it'll get a remaster in the future.

LoveSpuds171d ago

I played it on WiiU for the first time and it remains my fave Zelda game to date. So much character and a real sense of exploration without the open world bloat.

Ms Pacman?
Robotron?
SSF2 Turbo over 3 simply by the 10000000000's ports of the game we're still having
Castlevania SOTN?
Zelda Link to the Past over Wind Waker
Super Mario Bros 3?
Chrono Trigger?
Resident evil4?
COD MW2 (the original)?
Uncharted 2
Metal Gear Solid?

Here's my reasoning for all of them versus the list proposed in the article.
They are still quite enjoyable from start to finish on their original platform, unlike some Wind Waker or Okami that are fun when you play the remastered version (unless you call: forced to watch a 20-minute cutscene or have to blow for wind chance constantly fun).
Some of them are the pinnacle of what the console could do (MGS, Chrono, MGS)
Lots of them are still considered the go-to-go game for their genre.

Said it before but Heart of Darkness is truly a timeless gem.
