DreamWorks waiting for cue from Toshiba on Blu-ray

Los Angeles (Reuters) - DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said on Tuesday it was locked in an exclusive deal to distribute DVDs on Toshiba Corp's HD DVD format even though the Japanese electronics maker plans to quit the technology.

"We have a partnership with Toshiba and have an obligation to see this through," DreamWorks Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg said on Tuesday.

"As you know, we have been well-compensated for our support. It really is in their court at this point to really declare what the next step will be. We're poised either way to jump into the marketplace when the conditions are right to do so," he said

hahaha what ho'$. Not only did they admit compensation but now their stuck with the repercussions of their short sighted decision to back hd-dvd exclusively.

maybe they should have used the get out cause like paramount. Well it's there lost.

Well, I'm impressed that they're sticking to their guns and waiting for Toshiba to give the go ahead. That's some loyalty right there... good for Dreamworks, although considering it's inevitability - Toshiba really should reciprocate and let them go peacefully.

Its not loyalty its a contract

In another word,
"The $150 million still on right? I can launch Bee movies with HD-DVD even you quit the technology as long as I get my $150 million"
