PGO | PlayStation Move: A Forgotten Device?

The PlayStation Move has been with us for a while. However, with rivals from the Wii and Kinect it never really took off as much as Sony hoped for. For most users, including this writer, it simply now gathers dust leaving the question is the Move now a forgotten device? (Playstation Move, PS3, Sony)

I agree it is kind of. It is ashame because Move and Sharpshooter is a perfect combination for shooters. It worked so well for Killzone and Socom (and from time to time when i play these games I only use the move plus sharpshooter and not the controller). Sony just didn't come up with a killer game for it. Then, because of this, no third parties ever added it as a control option (would have gone well with COD and BF).

To be fair they did release The Unfinished swan and games that like which go under the radar as the are not just for the Move

I agree that all it took really was one hugely successful game. I agree when it comes to Killzone it worked really well (can't say for SOCOM as I've never tried it) but I just couldn't get use to it and it never felt as natural as the controller which is a shame.

I like move for the non-shooter aspects of gameplay. I actually enjoyed Sorcery and Medieval Moves. I wish they'd make more games like those. Looking forward to Until Dawn.

Haven't used mine since October. But I'm waiting on Bioshock Infinite, KZ4, and Until Dawn.

Yeah, I forgot Bioshock infinite and other upcoming games featured Move support.

Maybe move is doing exactly what Sony wanted and just serving as a (very good) motion control option rather than their main focus.

I think if they wanted it to sell more they would release some killer Move-exclusive apps and crank out a quality marketing campaign.

Sony's marketing here in the states has left me puzzled and speculating for a few years though.

The Move has only been out for just over 2 years and with the PS3 at over 70 million units it is likely to be around for many more years. I think it's possible to change peoples opinion of motion controlled gaming and I believe my company is on the right track for making that happen. We have developed a motion controller peripheral designed for hardcore gamers to allow for dual joystick character and camera control while still allowing for 1:1 motion control of both hands. If you want to check them out being use in a rough looking tech demo here http://www.youtube.com/watc... and you can see that the potential is still there for the move to have that killer game that people have been waiting for!

uh...nope KZ3, Sorts Champion 2, RE: Umbrella Chronicles and Eye Pet 2 are still very much played at home

Sports Champions 2 came out not that long ago, coming up we have Until Dawn. Shouldn't need a new game every week.

It's just Sonys bad marketing, and thanks for reminding me about Sports Champions 2.

Yeah, Sony's marketing here in the states pales in comparison to their competition. Many people here still buy Playstation due to word of mouth and their own "research"

Not sure it makes sense to market the heck out of it until they really plan on focusing on supporting it though. I would love to make a Move title personally.

What is this Move you speak of?
Seriously though, Move tanked hard and its games aren't very compelling. Sorcery was a joke.

only game I really enjoyed is heavy rain. it was a whole new experience for me to play with move.

I haven't used mine in ages but I'll use it for until dawn.

Forgotten... until I boot up BioShock Infinite, Portal 2 and Until Dawn. Oh, and whatever they're cooking up for next gen.

It is a forgotten device but I think Sony will us it in some way next gem from the start like Microsoft will with Kinect and for me this is a big plus as developers will use the devices from day one and we will get see some new and amazing way to play games.
