Are we ready for Next Gen Consoles?

Every time there are rumors about next gen video game consoles, the internet goes into a tizzy, but are we truly ready for next gen devices? (Next-Gen)

The_Infected  +   606d ago
For the 10th time yes! Well I am anyways. I'm pretty sure almost everyone wants to have next gen consoles by now. Especially to see those pretty AAS exclusive games running in some great hardware.
LOGICWINS  +   604d ago
Depends. If this season pass/DLC milking/adding multiplayer to games that shouldn't have it crap gets worse next-gen, I want no part of it.

EDIT: Eh, who am I kidding? If God of War 4 launched on the PS4 with lifelike graphics in 1080p, I'd explode (with excitement) all over my keyboard ;)

yeah im with you. if someone doesnt want next gen yet, then i recomend stickin with your 360 and ps3. yeah its that simple. wait for a price drop or whatever i really dont care. im down day one
Knight_Crawler  +   604d ago
@ Marcus - I am also ready for next gen but can I ask you question - are you will to drop $600 or more on the PS4 or 720 at launch?

I am personally worn out by the current gen and I dont get excited about new games anymore so I really hope we get a next gen console reveal this E3 but if the price is going to be $600 then I think I am going to look for a new hobby.
The_Infected  +   604d ago
^ $600 is to much. $500 is highly pushing it. $400 to $450 that's a good price and I would pay that. As far as $600 no I most likely want but I highly doubt they'd be that much. Microsoft will most likely use a subscription plan to help people who don't have much money get one. Idk what Sony is will do.

Ive been ready with two years now.

Will better hardware make better games? Please explain this to me.
theWB27  +   604d ago
How do you think Uncharted, God of War 3, Gears of War, Killzone 2 n 3, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed etc would have faired on...say the N64, or PS1, or the first Xbox. I hope that explains a little for you.
solid_warlord  +   604d ago
Have u seen Assassins creed ran on PS2...i remember Ubisoft showed a demo of it when the original idea of the game was created in the PS2 era. They showed it back in 2009 and it looked horrible compared to current gen tech and physics was very limited.

Im so glad they choose to have waited for current gen. Next gen however, will look much better in terms of 1080p native and 60fps gameplay. Maybe not much in graphics from ps2 to ps3 leap but game physics will see the biggest improvement.

Good question. Not necessarily, but the higher computing power can breathe new life into games with gorgeous graphics. I'm talking about more effects that breed immersion and feed into a beautiful atmosphere.

Also, game-play, believe it or not can open up with added power, creating new possibilities not capable on current-gen consoles.

Depends on how developers use it at the end of the day. But yes, it is extremely possible.

If GTA IV was run on the PS3 or Xbox 360 with 4GB of ram then you would see a lot further into the distance and see less popups and possibly better anti aliasing. The restriction of small ammounts of ram alone in the current consoles restricts how far you can see into the distance which is one example why we need more ram in the next consoles along with other things that more ram and faster hardware will make a big difference.

Yes, two years now.
PS4isKing_82  +   604d ago
That's a pretty easy answer.
We've had these same consoles for the better part of a freaking decade.

It's been time for an upgrade for a while now.
This is ridiculous ppl are still asking this question.

This may will make 8!! Long years since ps3 and 360 were first unveiled.
It's time to retire these dinosaurs soon and move on.
Next gen is coming soon like it or not.

Keep playing ps3 and 360 for the next 20 years if u want but the rest of the world is ready for new consoles.
strigoi814  +   604d ago
