Hardcore Gamer: After today's debacle, many auctions for the game are ending in the $300-$400 range, with some going as high as a whopping $475.
yep, ....its THAT good.
No single game is worth $400. Sorry.
This money won't go to the game makers unfortunately.
Shop too had the last one and I missed it brrrr
I managed to pay for mine on ShopTo at the start of January. I did it just in case and I am really glad I did. I've not received any emails to say it's out of stock or my order has been cancelled. Feel sorry for people who really want the WE and missed out on it. Anyway, really looking forward to this game, Feb 1st is taking too long to arrive lol.
people are starved of great JRPGs in the west... great timing Sony
You mean great timing Namco Bandai/Digital River. Funny how people empower the big companies who just make the platform much more than the ones who release the software.
wow! what is empowering about that comment? jeez somebody throw Doctor Evil a freakin' bone here about what exclusive partnership deals are all about Nintendo had their Ni No Kuni exclusive deal partnership So when Sony does it, its a big deal to whine about touchy much?
because their morons thats why and I dnt see what the big deal about this game is it's basically just a Pokemon clone
And that's why you don't see what the "big deal" is.
How about you play the game. Then state your opinion.
User assumes since Ni No Kuni has Pokemon elements... its Fact: Its a Pokemon clone. I don't get it ¬_¬
have you played it? If not, then dont say such a thing. You should know how awesome Ghibli and Level 5 are, its not a cheap clone or something.
wow, a part of me is tempted to put my unopened wizards editon on ebay when i recive it, but the gamer inside me knows i probably wont be able to resist opening and playing it haha
Don't do it. You can tell people bought up the wizards edition just to make a profit, which is unfair to the people that actually wanted it and now have to pay double to get one.
Harry, I think it should be illegal. You should have to register for these things with a name (a REAL one), an address etc. It is absolutely disgusting, and I pity those who Pay those thieves exorbitant amounts of money, as it only promotes this filthy business. I know, we live in a capitalist society, but this is just morally wrong. We need some sort of limited edition (in this case uber limited edition) registry. Not the metal tin 'limited' editions, but the special ones like this.
Happens all the time with Gig/concert tickets. People save up to see their favourite band/artist and then all the tickets sell out and half of them were bought by people who want to make a profit and you end up having to pay double just because of some greedy person who doesn't even care about the band/artist. Needs to be a better system put in place.
YES, i for one am a collector and got jipped out of the wizards edition, had it preordered just got email stating sorry for the mix up but we oversold and we have to refund your money, i considered ebay but for $300 no way! Im extremely pissed of at namco, im glad i was able to gamefly the game because its an awesome game so far
Just to make clear, I pre-ordered this game it for myself, this has been my most anticipated game (other than Persona 4 Golden) for at least the past 6 to 10 months. In all honesty I'm probably going to keep it but for that amount of money id be lying if I said i wasn't at least tempted to sell it.
I have to work at 10 but here I am awake at six and I just finished playing for the night. I haven't had a single player game keep me awake like that since dark souls. Congrats to the devs for its acclaimed success.
I can second that. Dark Souls was the latest game that kept me up until small hours. Ni No Kuni has that magic FFVI/FFVII/FFXII, Demon's Souls and Dragon Quest VIII had. The gameplay is incredibly addicting, and the story is heart-warming. As a relatively adult (I'm 30) gamer I thought for a while if I should invest into such a "childish looking game". How ludicrous my thoughts were! This is exactly as childish as Sen To Chihiro was (Spirited Away), and that movie is deeper than most philosophical rants you get from indie movie makers. This game is art. It's art in terms of visual presentation, enchanting music and warm, but deep narrative. All you adult gamers who are pondering if they should get a game where a little boy acts as a hero, just get over yourself! Ni No Kuni represents our reasons why we love gaming.
What a bunch of nit wits. You can buy the regular priced game and 6 other new games for that kind of money!
Namco Bandai are total f* ups... They provided the wizard's book for free with every regular copy in Japan and now they did this? the Wizard's Editions should hae been readily available like in any other game's case !!!
Now that demand for this game is telling about the success of Ni No Kuni, I wish Sony secures a sequel to this game and they publish it. It doesn't need to be a real sequel, but a successor. What i want is the collaboration between Level 5 and Studio Ghibli to remain. And one more thing: I hope they make a JRPG of this caliber (or higher!) for the next PS console! hail to the rebirth of the JRPG genre!!!
I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see the value of this game to steadily rise over time - especially a factory sealed one. $400 today. $1000 (or so) a year from now.
