Azure and Emerald: Wind Waker HD

Why Wind Waker HD will be an interesting and engaging component to both the WiiU and the beloved Zelda franchise. (3DS, Dev, GameCube, Industry, Next-Gen, Nintendo, Retro, The Legend of Zelda, Wii, Wii U)

I'm also very much looking forward to this. I've been thinking about playing this game again and this HD remake is coming out at the perfect time.

I wouldn't hold my breath for 1080p though. I'm sure the Wii U could handle a 1080p Wind Waker, but with all the lighting and graphical touchups they're doing, I expect 720p. Honestly I find that a bit disappointing after watching 1080p emulated versions on youtube like this:

Playing that video through my Wii U onto my TV looks amazing. Those graphics in 1080p are good enough for me.

(Pro tip: to play 1080p youtube videos on your Wii U, first hit play on the video. On the GamePad, minimize the video by clicking on the up arrow in the bottom right corner. In youtube, click on the gear icon towards the bottom right of the video box. The gear only appears when you're playing the video, which threw me off for awhile.)

I'd recently started replaying this - just got up to the trial of the gods where I think you get the master sword. But I've immediately stopped playing now in anticipation of this remake!

This Wind Waker HD is a remake, not just and HD version the way Sony usually does. Although the Dolphin emulator kicks ass and the video just shows how amazing the game looks, I'm sure Nintendo can do and will do this incredible IP the justice it deserves.

Have you tried the PS2 emulator? I got KH2 on the highest setting on my laptop with X6 AA and 1080P and it just looks effing ridiculous. You can even HD the texts and menus if you can (it gets pretty slow if I do on my rig so I leave it as is, no biggie for me)
