MGR: Revengeance Xbox 360 vs PS3 Comparison

Which version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance should you be looking to buy? (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PS3, Xbox 360)

Look's pretty much the same. I saw a comparison of the framerate too, both run at 60fps with neither of them going below 46fps for the most part.

Look's like a game worth buying on either console.

Played the demo, was surprisingly fun. Very fast paced, cool music, nice parry mechanic. It's impossible to not feel like a badass whilst slicing up an enemy lol

His moves are pretty much exactly the same as they were in Playstation all-stars too. Superbot definitely stayed true to the source material.

Should be a great game

360 port has screen tearing and isn't v-synced = fail
PS3 version doesn't tear and is v-synced

Identical frame rate on both = PS3 version wins

The PS3 version also has sharper image quality due to less compression.

"The PS3 demo sails north of 3GB, while the Xbox 360 game is just 1.8GB.The variance here appears to be almost entirely down to the video sequences - they're of a reasonable enough quality on the Microsoft console, but it's no exaggeration to say that they're almost entirely pristine on the PS3 - that's all down to the presence of the Blu-ray disc for the final build, which offers Platinum so much more raw storage, allowing for higher quality video encodes."

...and yet people still want to believe blu-ray doesn't matter.

lol wow.. Would never buy this on xbox either way but im shocked that platinum did a better job on PS3
blitz0623  +   602d ago
Sounds like Platinum learned from Bayonetta. Wonder if Bethesda would follow.
Nah, can't see it happening
MasterCornholio  +   602d ago
No one should be surprised ever since the lead programmer stated that the PS3 version would be better.

"“We all versions of the game with great care and effort build. But hardware constraints we are sometimes annoying. But the problem we have in the PS3 console and power top the console allows us to make our best game. So it is natural that the So it is natural that the PS3 version is better than the other two versions,” He said via gamefa (thanks to google translate)."

I buying it on the PS3, simply because I associate Metal Gear more with PS than Xbox.

THat being said the game is surprisingly good. I expected as much from Platinum, but with the cancelation I was worried. It's not standard Metal Gear, but it's a really good action game, and it may be the game to really push number for Platinum.

Platinum are proving they're one of the best out there, and easily top 5 in Japan, maybe top 3.

Yeah pretty much looks the same. Buy it on your console of choice, in the end everyone wins
AznGaara  +   602d ago
You've got to hand it to P*. After the mishap of Beyonetta on Ps3 they've really come around and learned to develop for it, and it shows in Vanquish and MGR.
Hicken  +   602d ago
Keep in mind: they didn't actually do the PS3 port of Bayonetta. I wish they had, though.
lfclee  +   601d ago
Agreed there is no difference .

This doesnt have move support does it?
Wasted opportunity if it doesnt. Seems like it was made for it.

ps3 version for me
StrongMan  +   602d ago
The PS3 version looks better.
brich233  +   602d ago
How can you judge the quality of how the game looks by watching bad youtube video compression. They both look like shit.
Max-Zorin  +   602d ago
They look the same to me.
DEATHxTHExKIDx  +   602d ago
All my multiplats go to 360.

As far as demo comparisons go, I'll wait to cast judgement until I see the final builds in action! I did this with DmC and though the PS3 had a tad bit of a sharper image, which is only noticeable when comparing side by side still shots, the 360 version was the better of the two consoles, with performance notably better on 360 and zero screen tearing. Of course it really doesn't matter if you only own one console.
nukeitall  +   602d ago
People keep saying the PS3 version is sharper, but I saw the opposite. For instance at 0:56, look at the tiled floor. The Xbox 360 is sharper.
AznGaara  +   602d ago
Ps3 for me. The face buttons on the Dualshock feel much more responsive than the 360 pad which feel a bit stiff in comparison. At least for me, action games on the dualshock always feel better.
Belking  +   602d ago
Looks about the same to me.
AngelicIceDiamond  +   602d ago
Well, the fanboys have there Sony goggles all over this like they do in everything. But the coloring looks better on 360 and certain textures look better on the Xbox version. But they both look fine considering its just a demo

But, that doesn't matter, seeing how my opinion won't matter unless I'm favoring the PS3 version on this particular site. Which isn't fair considering I clearly think Resident Evil 6, Borderlands 2 La Noir among others look better on PlayStation.
Ezz2013  +   602d ago
yeah you are right ... that's why DF said MGS:R ps3 version is the best

Good to see the PS3 version is the superior version !

V-sync active,High quality cinematics, and more sharper details in-game on PlayStation3...Exactly like Vanquish on PS3... DmC can't compete with MGR !

Yup, if there one thing I've learnt to despise this gen, it is screen tearing. VSYNC4LIFE! :D
Euthanasia78  +   602d ago
Just how many discs will this be on xbox? No way is it on just one.
AngelicIceDiamond  +   602d ago
At least the 360 version wasn't a lazy port.

360 CrontrollerPerfect For-Shooters

PS3 Controller Perfect For-Everything

Thats all that matters.
FrigidDARKNESS  +   602d ago
The 360 wins for clarity and detail with richer colors. Ps3 nersion seems to be hazy and washed out. Its U-G-L-Y tgers no aliby for ugly.
brich233  +   602d ago
Lets see here,

1 Same game
2 diffrent consoles
3 few diffrences
4 bad youtube video compression
5 why care
6 but Yay for us ps3 guys getting the better quality DEMO right? Because we all know DEMOS represent the FINAL quality of the game.

Wait, I thought pc gamers were graphics whores? Consolers arguing about nothing again lol. Apparently nitpicking tiny differences and claiming a "winner" is ok, but if a pc gamer talks about far superior graphics, they are elitists. It actually gives me a good laugh. I hope you children never stop lol.
