At least old gamers will drive at like 90 mph.

for me personally, its that i'm getting older. days are numbered. there are many books i want to read and expand my mind that take up some would be gaming time. and just going out and being more social. but overall i still find lots of time to play games.

Well I still play games that's for sure but I don't have the time (or attention span) to play them like I used to.

The biggest problem I have with getting older is when I look back at old favorite from the N64 or PS and remember it like it was yesterday.

Then I realize that was fifteen years ago.

Time goes by too damn fast.

I am a gamer sense before Coleco Vision and I understand everything he is talking about in this article. I personally still have really good reflexes in FPS but fighting games are way to complex for me to master (they always were actually).

Now this may sound crazy but if it wasnt for motion controlled gaming I would be making my exit as a gaming consumer. I love all the Assassin creeds and Uncharted giant open worlds of Fallout and Skyrim. I love all the characters and costumes of MVS3 and StreetfighterXtekken. Understand the quality of gaming is not an issue. We get some of the best products you can imagine these days.

But I have been sitting down holding a controller and playing these adventures the same way for so long I just dont get as excited about spending another 10-40 hours sitting their thumbing through a game. Its more like a chore. I ave found myself playing more chess poker and Anry birds than the current stable of games this gen.

But my passion has been restored. I saw the Wii and was intrigued some of those games were really cools but I never got one for myself but I did jump in when MS dropped the kinect. I felt the potential immediately I enjoyed it as a quick casual experience it made games feel like games as in something to just play.
But I am a core gamer at heart and like a little meat on the bones. I loved Rise of Nightmares, I learned how to control to me it was just a game of me walking around beating the shit out of zombies with whatever I could find. As a controller based game it would have been a dime a dozen but me putting together my own combos and movement strategies it was great. Kinect Star Wars was the same, learned how to clear a section just using the force then learned all the sabre techniques to become more deadly and all the intricate parts of the game... I could go on and on bu every game I played i mastered so even Steel Battalion and Fable the Journey are some of my most prized experiences this gen. I am really looking forward to next gen after experiencing the foundation of motion controlled games I am expecting some great things.

Oh, so YOU're the guy who played and liked Steel Batallion...kidding.

Interesting point of view, although I don't agree with most of it.

It's nice to see other people that feel the same way I do. One thing I have noticed in talking to my kids, other gamers, etc... is that the difference between young and old gamers is that young ones feel the Kinnect is a clunky controller with boring implementation but older gamers feel like the Kinnect is a good substitute for a workout at the gym.
