Why gamers need more games like Far Cry 3

Gamers really need more games like Far Cry 3. There needs to be more go-anywhere, do-anything” shooter games. Too many FPS games on the market have become like action flicks, forcing players to move from point A to B and then see a cutscene after mowing down countless AI bad guys who all follow a few set patterns. Fans of the FPS genre want more freedom in their games. Luckily, GoozerNation has a few suggestions for gamers looking to move beyond the standard FPS. (Borderlands 2, Crysis 3, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

It's not that great of a game. Sure, I enjoyed it for the first half, then it just fell into that repetitiveness that was in the first game.

We need more games with a great, compelling story that makes you want to continue playing. MORE SANDBOX isn't necessarily the answer. Story, Pacing, continuous challenge...THAT is what we need.

This is exactly how I feel about these types of games. I haven't played Far Cry 3, but generally with large, open world games like Skyrim or Fallout I eventually get bored.

It's too bad because with games like those, what initially seems amazing, eventually I just discover that there's so much to do, it just all ends up being the same. If it were less "stuff" and more interesting and focused, better paced story I wouldn't lose interest personally.

But that's me and I understand others feel differently.

I love Fallout and Skyrim, but am now finding Far Cry repetitive. In FO/S you have multiple ways to play the game, your character changes and different plays can be completely different. Far Cry not so much, your character alters slightly as you progress and each mission is the same (find camp, kill people, collect item).
Admittedly I haven't yet finished FC3 (will do as its an easy Plat) but so far its the same throughout.

Agreed. Thought it was gonna be my GOTY during the first half. Barely made top 5 by the time I was done.

Yeah this was a fun game, i liked it but i didnt love it.
I actually traded it in there last week as i found it quite easy to unlock all outposts and memory cards (since memory cards are located within these outposts there was no real challenge.
Collecting every single relic in the game didnt appeal to me, so I thought why not trade it in before it gets a really bad trade in value in a month or two.

I'm less and less interested in story these days. Good gameplay is way more important.

When you unlock all the safe houses all the enemies disappear. You are left wondering around with 50 guns and nothing to shoot at.I hate when games do that!

I liked the game but am I the only one who thought the story was a little but, Unfinished? I have no Idea what happened to *Spoiler* My rescued friends did they make it back? or When Citra sacrifices you what happened to my child? *Spoiler End* Then again this could mean a Far Cry 4 which I am really hoping comes round though I hope they don't design it like Assassin Creed (I felt the liberation of outposts was like destroying Borgia Towers and Scaling Radio Towers was like Synchronization) which Im not going to lie I was hoping for something much more original but none the less one of the best games out at the moment By the way please don't hate it's my opinion even though it may be incorrect.
