Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has provided another development update in regards to the upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U video game, “Super Smash Bros. 4.”
Now Lets see Nintendo's numbers when it come to selling a Brawler.
Sales don't matter if the game is fun. Sure it'll sell more than PS All Stars Battle Royale but that doesn't matter to me. I'm a gamer. I play games. I can't possibly play sales. Until I can, I won't worry about them. As LNG as a game sells enough to make the dev a profit, that's all that matters, really.
lets see nintendos numbers? uh sure theirs a decades worth of them, nintendo started the brawl genre first, speaking with my unbiased hat on.
All stars royale whatever the unknown game was a huge failure. Let the boss show the weak rip off game how its done.
It only failed because they messed up with the kill system I would have bought it if it wasn't for that
Wow. Sony ripping off Nintendo again. I'll act surprised. The new SSB is gonna rock!
smash bros is quality..
" He also revealed that the first screens will be released during the E3 2013 event" Lol who is excited to get screen shots at e3?? I think a demo would be better.
A few screenshots is better than nothing.
can not wait for this !!
Agreed, but hopefully it's more like Melee than Brawl this time around. Brawl was good, but it wasn't as fun to me as Melee was, and I don't know why. I think Brawl just had too much going on from too many instant kill items, to how the physics were revamped, character changes, and a few other things.
Brawl was "toned" down for newcomers so the game would be more beginner friendly. Melee is also much faster. I hope Smash 4 will be similar to melee in terms of physics.
As somebody who has a few friends that probably are as close to professional at SSB, the games all got slower as they continued. SSB on N64 was as fast as heck, Gamecube was a lot sower. And yes, brawl continued to slow down. Not that it's a huge deal, it makes certain ways of playing work better. But it does feel weird. I switch between the N64 and GC one all the time as those are our main contest games. More on topic about the Playstation All-Stars...how do they expect it to succeed when there's not % number like in Smash Bros? I mean, it's really Street Fighter/Killer Instinct dressed up as a Smash Bros game. The % in SSB is what made it fun as you were fighting the other person AND the counter! While in PSAS you don't get throw farther or have to play different because of your damage, you just have a count down. That's why SSB succeeded was because it didn't have a health bar! Obvious as heck they screwed up the core damage system...
The handling in Brawl was easy to get used to. I can't even play melee anymore since I'm so used to the way Brawl handles.
the new super smash brothers will make that pathetic sony rip off allstars game look so weak in comparison. im betting on some major characters being in this game from other companies
Have you seen Nintendo's third party support? Don't bet on them getting a lot of characters from third party companies.
Unlike Sony Nintendo don't need to rely on third party characters to fill out their roster.
They could get enough if they really wanted to. @Deku-Johnny Actually, Sony has more than enough characters to fill out their entire roster and then some, but most of them aren't as well known as the third party characters the opted to put in the game.
Lego City Undercover, Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, Zombi U, Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, Wonderful 101 and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge. All third party games exclusive to Wii U. Not to mention they're making this Smash Bros game with Namco Bandai, so I see Pacman as a definite possibility for a playable character :)
First off what was the point of bringing PSA into this. While SSB is the better game IMO (3 games under their belt), PSA is a much better fighter than SSB in it's first attempt. The first SSB was only decent, and it took Melee to really put the series into the AAA genre, hopefully we can expect the same level of quality will go into PSA with it's next iteration.
@pedroyamato That was a ignorant comment. What does Forza being better than the first GT has to do what anything I said. I simply pointed out that SSB was only a good attempt it's first time around, but Melee is what made the series great, and hopefully PSA has the same success with it's sequel.
@pedroyamato, Forza 1 came out in 2005 while the first Gran Turismo came out in 1997. Wanna hear something funny? The 1997 GT is better than the 2005 Forza. LOLOLOL.
The first Forza better than the first Gran Turismo?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA No kid, just no.
Are you seriously comparing All Stars to Smash Bros 64? A game made 14 years ago? Whether it be the first entry in the series or not, as a fighting game, technology today will obviously allow All Stars to be a better "fighter". More fun is debatable. I had fun with Smash Bros 64 for years until Melee was released, while I probably have less than 5 hours worth of gameplay time with All Stars since it's release. Smash Bros 64 is a classic of it's time. Without it there would be no Playstation All Stars. All Stars was heavily inspired by Brawl *it's no secret* and I think Brawl is better in every way possible as a fighter and video game at 5 years old if you want to compare... Even as the first entry in the franchise, Superbot had all the tools and information they could possibly need to make a great game. I can't help but feel extremely disappointed with the lack of content in the game. This would have been okay 14 years ago, but not now.
@pedroyamato & chidori So now that's 2 people who can't comprehend. The only comparions between those SSB 1 and PSA was that PSA is the first game in the franchise, and like SSB 1 it was a good game, but not the great game it is now. It wasn't until Melee that SSB really took off, and HOPEFULLY PSA HAS THE SAME LEVEL OF QUALITY AS MELEE HAD WHEN IT LAUNCHED. Take a comprehension class, it'll help you a lot more in life if you learn to listen, or in this case reading comprehension.
@chidori heavily inspired is kind of an exaggeration, while the games are somewhat similar in aesthetics under the hood they play much differently. P.S brawl is trash bro, take it from someone who put in hundreds of hours into melee, PSABR easily surpasses it mechanics wise.
LMAO you are comparing a nintendo 64 game released 15 years ago, to the game mechanics of Playstation allstars RELEASED NOW, thats utterly pathetic. you are trying to hate on the game that gave birth to the genre, if super smash bros didnt exist, PSA would not exist. how can you say PSA acomplished more than the original smashbros? when smash bros came out we never saw a game like it- ppl anticipated the release of melee, then brawl and now smash bros 4. guess what ppl said when they saw PSA? SMASH BROS RIP OFF AND WORSE. you cant compare smash bros. and PSA- you want a fair comparison, go compare digimon rumble arena released 10 years ago. that game accomplished everything that PSA did 10 years ago lol. OH by the way sony has a ****** template of all smash bros games and PSA mechanics is what they came up with? they have to go back to the drawing boards because nintendo had no one but themselves to rely on on making smash bros since there is no game like it, but sony had smash bros as a template big difference.
Get bent.I'm guessing you haven't even played ps all stars. Anyways you probably won't take my word for it on how much fun the game can be both locally and online. Having said that the next smash bros will certainly be better on the superior hardware of the wiiu but I'll be interested also inthe inevitable ps all stars 2 on ps4 as well as smash bros
sounds like you sony guys are just experiencing what all of us have experienced since the 64 days.
Better late than never. F@@k me right? Having said that I've been a fan of smash bros side melee haven't played n64 version cause never owned n64
Super Smash Bros. Universe? The name in itself makes me wanna get a WiiU.
do U even Smash? .....>_> I couldn't resist
