Microsoft seeking 'Gunpowder' trademark

Microsoft has filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for a new project called "Gunpowder."

The trademark description sheds little light, noting only that the mark will be used for "entertainment services, namely, providing online video games." (Microsoft, Next-Gen, Xbox 360)

That's kind of a ballsy move seeing how there is currently so much negative publicity related to firearms.

Yeah compared to all the positive publicity "Killing" (Killzone) "Warfare" (Modern Warfare), "crisis" (Crysis), "Battlefield" (Battlefield), "Assassin" (Assassin's Creed), "war" (God of War / Gears of War) gets... oh wait.

Every example you give is video game related which is only a fraction of the exposure to what this theoretically will get. More exposure means there is bound to be someone who will try to attach a negative connotation to it.
