Music: A Make or Break Experience in Video Games

With a limitless supply of video games to dive into, every one of them has its own soundtrack. Though some can be lacking in atmosphere, truly listen and ask yourself: does the score make you feel like you ARE in the game? Or does it break the experience so much that it feels like a careless add-on to make the game feel simply finalized?

The story is too old to be commented.

It is a really important part for a game to have right. A boss battle won't feel epic or engaging without the proper music being played.

Every game needs a good score.

Listening to ff 8's score on my ipod envokes all the experiences I played without seeing anything, the same goes with kingdom hearts.

I think in RPG's the score is of a great in importance or at least more than it would be to an FPS.

This.

A million times. This is why I've always loved KH and Dream Drop almost floored me with its awesome final boss themes.

On another note, after recently playing and beating ICO for the first time (ICO/SotC collection on ps3), I have officially heard one of the best atmospheres in a game.

I think that next to gameplay, sound is the most important element of a game.

music plays one of the most important roles to a moment like say a epic boss battle or a depressing moment
