Seems like they're deflecting their own responsibility of making a good game on to the fans who have no control over how many copies EA considers "enough". It also feels like a threat.

I hope they continue! Dead Space 2 is one of my favourite games this gen. And I'll be getting Dead Space 3 too! Though I understand why some won't because of the direction but I enjoyed the demo so that's all that matters :)
Same thoughts here. Demo was fun, DS2 was excellent... I'm certainly giving it a shot. I think people feel a little over entitled when it comes to gaming.
Nobody's saying that DS3 will be a bad game. We just don't think it'll be a very good Dead Space game. Dead Space 1 had an atmosphere that made you really feel like you were all on your own against an entire ship-full of beasties who would kill you in very messy ways. DS2 didn't quite achieve that atmosphere, but made up for it with more psychological horror that I'd actually argue was more effective.
DS3 looks like the RE5 of the series. It's a significant shift in tone and for it I very much doubt it will have the same impact that the first two games did.
I feel like they're doing to dead space what capcom did the resident evil. It was a great horror game slowly turning more and more into an action game. It's really unsatisfying to see the direction they're taking it in. I'm a huge fan of DS1, but DS2 went in a more action orientated direction and DS3 looks to go down that same path. I might buy it when the price is low, or if I hear good things, but nothing about the game is getting me excited or pumped up for DS3. I'm downloading the demo as we speak, so hopefully it does something to sway my opinion.
That just means there will be more Dead Space games as long as DS3 hits whatever sales goals they have in mind. I'm fairly certain DS3 will sell well, which will upset all the bitter online haters who passed judgement on it months ago, which will make me smile.

That was the game I fell in love with.
We do not have any control over what they do with the game. we can only vote if if we approve or not by buying it.
I am giving this one a miss.
