I have a Hauppauge, Black Magic, as well as an Avermedia Live Gamer. You can get 1080p from the PS3 with the Live Gamer but you can't do so with 5.1 enabled. The article is vague on whether you actually get 1080p. Producing a youtube vid encoded at 1080p actually isn't verifying in plain honest English that the device captures and produces 1080p from every platform.

The guy obviously tested the device yet fails to mention anywhere in the article what resolutions were available for each platform, audio encoding, the raw file format produced for each and the bit rate which affects quality as well as file size. Nice info to have.
