Should video games offer a less violent experience?

That provided an opening to the gun lobby, which tried to deflect the call for more gun restrictions by blaming video games as well. Then it ... (Industry, PS3, Tag Invalid, Xbox 360)

to be honest , they should offer great experiences in non violent and violent games , Ratchet and Clank a Crack in time is a great example , its not violent but it was amazing , GoW 3 is violent and amazing !

Agreed... developers should be free to make a game as violent as they'd like to create their vision the right way. Free speech allows for creativity. Sure there are those who will overuse and exploit, but that's the nature of the beast.

Exactly. Developers should be free to make to whatever they want. We should never limit creativity.

If movies don't have to I don't see why games would.

Should music be less dynamic?
Should film be less graphic?
Should comics be less illustrative?

Should games be less violent?

No, go home.

They already do! the fuck is going on with this videogame violence shit, it's just getting out of hand now, and is beginning to make less and less sense.

Because the great Journey is o so violent.

Why don't you ask the same thing to the movie industry?
mananimal  +   925d ago
Does it matter if they should?, No, so why ask a question, we already know it doesnt matter, as long as people have a thrist for violence, and they do, violent video games will continue to be a mainstay.

Its like asking "should Hollywood stop producing Violent Movies?" , Does it matter? No, cause we know there still gonna produce them. And how many times are Journalist gonna ask this same rhetorical question?, You know what pisses me off about it, Journalist asking questions they already know the answer to. It doesnt matter & they already know it b4 they ask the question.

geez. Put a cork in it already.

I remember some games in the N64 days came with different blood options such as green and sometimes blue. BUT you could ALWAYS choose good old red if you wanted :). Its all options to choose.

The NRA leading the charge on this. They are trying to take the focus off the fact that Crazy Fools and choosing assault rifles as the weapon of chose to mow down innocents.

Politicians get paid by the NRA to defend their positions. So they echo the NRA and other members repeat it until it goes viral. So, we now talk about video game while any sick f**k can go on the streets and pickup a real assault weapon with 100 round clips to boot.

I still am trying to figure out, how exactly does banning violent games help stop crazies from getting assault weapons to mow down people when they get pissed off?

It's called Nintendo.
MasterCornholio  +   924d ago
Everyone's favorite company that caters to casuals, family s and children. If anyone is looking for a pretty clean game than Nintendo first party titles are a great choice.

BTW if people think im bashing Nintendo by saying that they focus on the casuals, familys and children im really not because thats just the way their marketing is. This is also one of the reasons why they are so successful in the industry even though many core gamers dont like it.

Of course. That is the demographic they're pursuing and no one should bash them for that. They are pretty darn good at what they do.

PFFFT no. Games are fine just the way they are.
