Review: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch | Digitally Downloaded

Digitally Downloaded writes: "Ni No Kuni is a genuine masterpiece and all-but guaranteed to be the best game released this year. That's a big call since it's still January, but that's how great this game is." (Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, PS3) 5/5

NO PS3 owner should NOT have this game on their shelves after it launches. You have NO excuse.

I hate jrpgs.
ApolloTheBoss  +   863d ago
I'm not a JRPG fan either, yet I'm still buying the game Day 1. What does that tell you?

Edit: And you know what? If it blows my mind (most likely will) I just might convert.

Not a huge fan of JRPGs either, but I LOVE Studio Ghibli, so it's on preorder for me already.

Yupp, the case is gonna have a nice place next to my valkyria chronicles, another game all ps3 owners should have.
ApolloTheBoss  +   863d ago
Folklore is another game I'm interested in. I know I'm waaay late but I got my PS3 a month or 2 ago.
Enemy  +   863d ago
@ Apollo: Folklore has some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in a game. Valkyria Chronicles, Folklore, Demon's Souls, and now obviously Ni No Kuni are all PS3 exclusive must have RPGs.
Julie  +   863d ago
Apollo get Valkyria Chronicles 1st , Folklore is good too but is more action/adventure than rpg.The characters do lvl up on Folklore once every 50 years and you won't notice any change, well atleast i didn't :O

Not sure how much JRPG Folklore is, but it's one of my favourite games. Amazing gameplay, artwork, music. It was a steep learning curve for me learning abilities of all the creatures. Maybe that's why it felt so rewarding.

@ApolloTheBoss

If you get the game check the game's Wiki:

http://folkloregame.wikia.c...

It was a great help for me.

looks a little too cartoony for me, but ill support the cause. ill buy it cause i love rpgs >=). when is the release date on this badboy?
Enemy  +   863d ago
Tuesday, January 22nd.
MattS  +   863d ago
Cartoony?

It's Studio Ghibli. What the heck did you expect? :-/
Xer0_SiN  +   863d ago
yes cartoony. doesnt mean i hate it. i mean shit, one of my favorite animes is princess mononoke. i played through, eternal sonata, tales of graces f, among other cartoony rpgs, ill play through this as well. its not hard to comprehend that you can still enjoy a great game even though its not your flavor. keep that in mind chief ;).

Calling Studio Ghibli "cartoony" is like calling the Mona Lisa a "doodle."

Keep that in mind chief ;)
Xer0_SiN  +   863d ago
LOL! good one. i actually didnt know studio ghibli was behind this game until you mentioned it. regardless, i still plan on picking this up to support the cause.

I'm not a fan of rpg/jrpg genre either but for some reason I can't wait to get this game. :s
leahcim  +   863d ago
Metacritics its not considering 10/10's for this game its pathetic.... I already watched more than 15 perfect reviews!!!!!
Julie  +   863d ago
Metacritic includes the reviews they want, you can see obviously "sponsored games" and paid revies in there, they include reviews even from crappy shady sources (themselves) to increase the score but for that to happen u must pay cash (official bribes) sadly this is how game journalism and stuff works :I

Sometimes reviewers use their heart to review games instead of the wallet, like in Ni No Kuni case, sadly metacritic has no space for a heart.
