Beware of this save-destroying bug in Ni no Kuni

Ni no Kuni has a rather inconvenient bug that can destroy players' save files. (Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, PS3)

"Ni no Kuni has a rather inconvenient bug. At around 45 minutes into the game, players will encounter a wand quest. If you save/restore at the start of the quest, your file will be destroyed".

Well thanks for the heads up, i hope they patch it fast, ill keep that in mind tho so it doesn't happen to me :)

Also remember to have multiple save files just in case :)

EDIT: wait lol so what do i need to do, not to save/reload while i am on that quest? wait till the quest is finished and then save? wut!

You posted exactly what you are supposed to do. Just don't save or load right before that mission.

That just bit me in Xenoblade. Had to redo like 2 hours of stuff; complete buzz kill. The funny thing is that I do it with every RPG I play; I always forget to have multiple saves and save often.

I always make a gazillion saves when playing RPGs. I also have the habit of keeping saves before cool boss fights! I always run out of save slots though haha! And if I need to roll to a previous save, I need to spend like 30 mins to find the right one :P

that sucks
Basically, the game has been out for a year but this bug still exists? C'mon

Good thing I plan of having a couple hours straight first play with that game! :)

Same here. but I have to wait a month until I get my ps3 back to play it. Haven't decided if I'll play that first or MGR. Ether way there the next 2 on the list to play.

Well, it is rather inconvenient, and it seems to have happened multiple times, good thing it's being reported before launch so that developers can create a patch for it. Hopefully that feedback makes it there on time, otherwise, it's easy to avoid losing your saved file by completing the quest then saving after, or completely avoid it altogether til it's fixed ( if that's possible, I'm not a member of the press so I don't have an early copy).

I saw a video of that quest, is a very fast quest from the beginning of the game you can't avoid it, is part of the story. Then again is no biggie just don't save/load till u get yer wand (won't take long at all) :)

There are no battles on that part of the game so worry not :)

at least it's only 45 min in and not 15 hours into the game.

Annoying but you can work around it. Thanks for the warning though.

I save way too often in games but it helps for when freezes happen though. I would have been one to save prior to quest.

For sure, I remember a game-breaking bug in Twilight Princess that made it so I couldn't finish the game. It was right before the Sky Temple and I couldn't progress with the story any more.

Inconvenient, but not too big of a deal. Just don't save until after the quest and you'll be fine. It's only 45 minutes, and I plan on playing the game all night anyway.

It sucks but I'm kind of glad that other people suffered and then shared about the bug >_< Guess we'll have to just keep multiple saves.

That's not good. I'll just make sure to save after 2 hours of play time to make sure I'm not a victim of this bug...
