"Some of a truly great fighting game's most worthwhile secrets aren't immediately obvious, and characters that seemed balanced and valuable at first glance can become totally OP (or utterly worthless) given enough time on the competitive scene. With that in mind, I'd like to take a closer look at one of PlayStation All-Stars' quickest and most combo-centric fighters: Nariko, of Heavenly Sword fame. The female warrior - destined to lead her people to the promised land - is a perfect match for a game about kicking the living crap out of friends and enemies, but one move string in particular makes her highly effective - perhaps TOO effective - at doing so."
While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.
It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.
Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?
It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.
I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.
I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.
Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.
God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
I think they have Nariko confused with Kratos.
She's not overpowered. You have you be skilled to achieved those combos.
She is probably the most balanced, combo heavy character in the whole game. You actually have to learn combos...

Im no good with Nariko. I prefer Raiden, PaRappa, Radec, Toro, and Dante. But people ive played with online arent cheap and annoying spammers. Nariko is a legit good character and is definitely for people who like to put a lot of time into learning moves.
Superbot are aware of Kratos and that he will be more balanced in the next patch.
Yeah, she may have some of the best combos, but they take a long time to learn how to use properly, and she needs them, because her supers kinda suck. Raiden needs to be nerfed, there is an infinite combo he can use, and its just the same two moves over and over again. In 2v2 against two toros, I've had it where they got one kill then used these two different moves to fly up in the air and out of our reach for the rest of the match. Those things need to be nerfed... I don't actually have that big of a problem with kratos. If you roll behind him when he does that side square, you usually have a good opening for a level 1 super, depending what character you are using.
