2013 is the Year of the 3DS

Enter 2013, and boy the world has flip turned upside down (thank you Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). It kicks off with Fire Emblem: Awakening on February 4th, a title that may get me to pick up the special edition 3DS just to enjoy. We get Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on February 12th and I personally skipped the Wii U version just to be able to take the 3DS version with me. A few weeks later we get Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate on March 5th… and who doesn’t like a vampire game?

2013 is the Year of the multi console gamer. There is a game on each console that makes the console unique and worth having or at least playing.

I can respect those as contenders as someone would want a handheld system, but outside of Pokemon and smt nothing can hold my interest in handhelds since I only the chance to play at home and my bigger systems can be played on a bigger screen. I forgot about tales of the abyss is one I wanted but one game isn't enough to justify a large purchase.

I'd say it's going to have a phenomenal year. I'm pumped. In Europe at least, we have this killer line up:

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Code of Princess
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Naruto Powerful Shippuden
Fire Emblem Awakening
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Pokemon X/Y
Animal Crossing New Leaf

And that's just what's been announced so far. Definitely a far cry from the wasteland that was 2011. I got the system at launch with Street Fighter and got bored after a couple of weeks and returned to rinsing the superior console version. Ocarina of Time 3D was a nice distraction but nothing good/original came out until November. It's come along way. I just hope titles like Fantasy Life and Youkai Watch can get a localisation.

I just played the Fire Emblem demo and I'm sold on this game for certain! Luigi's Mansion looks really good as well.

SMT, Devil Summoner, Persona... these games would make me buy a 3DS. Well, they'd make me WANT to; not much there right now that I'd want one for.

Even if those 2 consoles get released this year i doubt that they will have such a good lineup as the PS3 and 360 (Wii U isnt included because there are barely any games coming out for it but thats normal since the console is brand new)

Actually it's the year of Grand Theft Auto 5, but the 3DS also does indeed exist.

With all these nintendo games coming plus monster hunter and Pokemon and all the third party support they got,I see the Vita sadly will probably be in its last year.No third party support and a couple of Sony games only against this list?

Excellent. We know next to nothing about Wii U releases that would make it platform of the year, so unless something outstanding comes out for PS4 and 720 this year, it's between PS3, 3DS and I'd say PC too.

Hasn't every year pretty much been the year of the 3DS? That thing is on fire. Nintendo does a pretty great job with the handheld market, which is why they always dominate it.
