Game wants to buy some stores from HMV. I swear they were in administration barley half a year ago.

And going by their current prices, I really can't imagine them doing much better off than this time last year either.

"Want" doesn't always mean "they will". They could just be talking out of context.

"I want some sweets". Doesn't mean the parent will give them any.

So a failing company buys another failing company. I swear these companies are run by monkeys.

Both these shops are terrible...

There more of a last resort type of place for me when I can't be asked to wait for a game to be delivered...

how in the world is game still in existence and HMV isn't?

HMV pretty much sold the same stuff but with a load of other items as well

Generally; a specialist is more likely to survive than a company that's panicking and trying to sell everything. The problem with games is that they are both selling them at the cheapest they can. Game would normally pay 35 per unit. After factoring in staff and rent, there's not a great deal of profit.

Of course Amazon has less of these costs but they operate close to the line. They make huge turnover but actually quite small profits. The industry is tough when publishers are so greedy. The same can sadly be said for music and movies

I finally picked The Hurt Locker for £3 from HMV today; they had a few good offers but a lot of them were poor. If you like box sets I suggest you check out their sale.
