Legislating Violent Video Games

The Game Fanatics' Darrin Wright looks at why attempts to legislate violent video games are doomed to failure. (Call of Duty, Dance Central 3, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Industry, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

If this passes, they might as well do the same for movies, music, etc. don't just single games out.

Whilst I agree in part with your comment I would suggest that the interactive nature of violence in gaming puts them ahead of movies, TV, etc.

Tax tax tax, ban ban ban. These lawmakers are useless. Always punishing the innocent with new laws. HELLO BAD PEOPLE DONT FOLLOW LAWS! Overpopulation, terrible economies, lack of trust and confidence in our "elected officials", lack of jobs...these are contributing factors to violence. Why don't we work on these for a while before making new laws mmmk?

Britain has legislation that prohibits the sale of rated content to minors.

We're also the nation that brought you Manhunt, GTA and Carmaggedon. Theres nothing wrong with stopping children from getting stuff they should have in the first place.
