Skyrim Add-Ons Land on PS3 in February, 50% off for One Week

Matt Grandstaff // Global Community Lead, Bethesda Softworks:

Today we’re excited to announce that, next month, we’ll be releasing all of Skyrim’s add-on content on PlayStation Store. The 1.8 title update will also release just prior to the launch of Dragonborn. We’ll keep you posted as release dates get finalized both on our end and with Sony for each and its various languages. Last but not least, each add-on will be 50% off during its launch week on PSN. (Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard DLC, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dragonborn DLC, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hearthfire DLC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)

50% off is something, better than nothing.

Maybe this will get me back into it so I can finally platinum it.
Red_Orange_Juice  +   739d ago
good news, but my plan is to wait for everything on disc anyway

So what PC doesn't get 50% off, what bull.
I understand that ps3 users have to wait for the first two but pc and ps3 both have to wait for Dragonborn till 5 feb.
Atleast they should give us Dragonborn 50% off.

I'm excited that it's coming to PS3 and PC, but a bit conflicted about the price. I have a 360 (so I'm just observing the situation), but it might have been a nice gesture to offer one of the DLCs for free as a peace offering. However, you all have waited long enough, so at least it's here.

Enjoy it guys.

PC had it a long time ago. PS3 is the one who is getting it for the first time.
nrvalleytime  +   739d ago
Sorry - was talking only about Dragonborn there:

"PC: On Tuesday, February 5th, Dragonborn will be available on Steam, including the English, French, Italian, Spanish and German versions of the content."

@nr Oh, okay. My bad.

And there'll be a 50% chance that it'll actually work properly too.

They better do this in all territories, not just the US.
Summons75  +   739d ago
Sweet for ps3 players. All the excitement and for half the price. Now I'm curious if they are releasing them individually on the same dy or its one giant dlc pack.
GreenRanger  +   739d ago

Detoxx  +   739d ago

After a long time of working with PS3/Sony Developers they got Skyrim DLCs working with PS3. It seemed to have been some memory issue with the PS3 and Bathesda's software. Usually Bethesda tests their games on PC, and porting it to Xbox is really easy for them considering they are almost the same technology. PS3 is a whole different beast so it probably wasn't optimized for that console.

Well they can count on me jumping back in, even with the slow down problems the game was really well done and i sunk a good hundred hours or so into it, not as much as oblivion but the dlc should see to that.

No! Sorry but its to late!!.... *sigh* ugh alright okay I guess i will download em.. still not happy about it. >=(
refocusedman  +   739d ago
Its been so long im not even sure I care anymore. Im about ready to move on to another RPG (Ni No Kuni) that reportedly has over 80 hrs of game play without paying extra, and without having to worry abt my frame rate dropping or my system freezing.
fhizikz  +   739d ago
i thought no one wanted dlc for ps3 skyrim
Hellsvacancy  +   739d ago

I'll be grabbing these day one. Skyrim was one of my favourite games this gen and my experience with it on the PS3 has been flawless. I can't wait!

kreate  +   739d ago

myproffs  +   739d ago

Blastoise  +   739d ago
You can keep it Bethesda, Skyrim sucked anyway.
nrvalleytime  +   739d ago
Always knew Blastoise had a bad attitude.

Seriously though - Skyrim had its issues and wasn't for everyone, but it's a very enjoyable game despite its flaws.
Summons75  +   739d ago
Yupp half the people complaining its "completely broken" have clearly never played morrowind or oblivion. Those games were just as buggy as Skyrim is yet people hold them on a high pedestal. Hell morrowind you could do a couple glitches and beat the game in a couple minutes. Skyrim, yes has it's flaws but they are no where near as bad as people make them out to be. I have both Xbox and ps3 versions, multiple characters, all in between 65 and 81. Haven't had any major game breaking problems once. Never saw a backwards flying dragon, or a heart attack dragon (though I always hopped cause that sounds hilarious). Some minor things sure but nothing serious. I got the dlc for Xbox so I might pass on the ps3 content but all of them were great additions and I'm glad Bethesda finally worked it out.

I bet a lot of 360 users wish that they were delayed for it as well, to get in on this deal.
NameRemoved0017  +   738d ago

ApolloTheBoss  +   739d ago
Yeah I'll just rent the GOTY edition. It's gonna be a buggy mess anyway so why waste your money?
