An online pass will not be required to access Tomb Raider's multiplayer mode, Square Enix has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.
Wow i might get this game then. Ill support any game that doesnt have an online pass!
Makes a change.
as if this make's a mediocre feminist driven Uncharted ripoff anybetter.
I thought it would take a while before we would see the dumbest comment of 2013, but you're my top pick so far.
What is dumb about it, the fact that you're to demasculatized to be able to recognize the game is attacking just that? or you exposing your lack of intelligence "thinking" you dropped set of aces by falsie thinking that Uncharted was infact the Tombraider rippoff... No worrie, lot of noobs fall for this. Now..grow a pair, maybe you'll save yourself.
@DigitalSmoke That you even used the word intelligence in that jumble of words is just wrong, on so many levels. That someone agrees with you is worse, that means there's 2 of you. OT: Its not like most gamers will be getting this for the MP, so they might as well not put up any barriers to it.
Thanks go out to DigitalSmoke for Keeping the Game Industry Locked Into the 1700's.
You do realize Tomb came out almost a decade before Uncharted right? Plus both are kinda rip offs of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones anyways.
"TR the Uncharted ripoff" LMAO TR basically set the standard for 3D adventure games more than 15 years ago. Both games may play differently and focus on different aspects but Uncharted copied TR concept and that is why both games look similar.
Uncharted didn't copy TR concept.... They're not even remotely the same. The only thing is common is some platforming and treasure hunting. That's really it, and I wouldn't even go that far as to say Uncharted Copy anything. TR has copied a lot of Uncharted cinematic style, not that it matters because I'm sure it will be a good game.
No? Treasure hunting, climbing, shooting, solving puzzles, stealth, swimming, platforming, hand to hand combat, exploring ruins... Pretty much everything we see in Uncharted we saw years before on TR. The difference is that TR focuses on exploration and Uncharted on the shooting and obviously the gameplay mechanics are presented in a completely different way. Uncharted is a cinematic "modernized" version of old TR games. Now i ask: how is it possible for both games not to look similar when Uncharted "borrowed" not only pretty much every gameplay mechanic but also the theme from TR? And why are PS3 fanboys saying that TR is the copy despite the FACT that it was released well before Uncharted? Who are they trying to fool?
ROFL @ me being a fanboy..... Half of what you just listed is in plenty of other Third Person shooters, did they copy TR also ? You look at Uncharted and how it plays, look at ANY previous Tomb Raider, you will see they don't look, or play the same remotely. NOW we look at this reboot and can see that, it is HEAVILY influenced by Uncharted, regardless of how you choose to spin it. You really listed shooting also ? Come up with a better counter argument, that was terrible to read. No, Uncharted isn't a modernized version of an old TR. I literally died laughing when you said it borrowed every gameplay mechanic from TR... Fact of the matter is, you can give it the blind eye, I won't. It heavily borrowed a lot of cinematic elements from Uncharted. Of course, I believe this will still be a good game. Uncharted is actually focused on story telling and the characters....the shooting in Uncharted isn't praised, and the gameplay mechanics is much more realistic than TR.
And the fact that uncharted used gears of war's controls and tomb raider's gameplay means nothing in your perspective?? I'm only saying this to invalidate your argument and it's pretty obvious you're just a mad fanboy thinking this is a disgrace to uncharted. However, Uncharted didn't revolutionize anything. It was an amazing game, probably the best at utilizing cinematic set-pieces and having amazing graphics. It was just an expertly crafted and smooth game which made it so great, but it didn't do much to establish itself as a pioneer in anything. Therefore you can't really call tomb raider an uncharted ripoff. It's very similar yes, and definitely influenced by Uncharted. Maybe the multiplayer is somewhat a ripoff, but that's tacked on anyway. It's about the single player which has a bunch of sandbox elements.
so we have come to a point where "free co-op" is considered news ..
Sadly. Last gen felt so innocent and fun. This gen I feel violated. Well, at least my wallet feels raped. It isn't going to get any better. Gamers don't run the business anymore, accountants and lawyers do.
I do not think that will help extend the life of it's Multiplayer mode.
What did you see in the multiplayer that make's this game anything other then a mediocre game with multiplayer as an after thought.
What a revolutionary idea!!
Seems they are prepping for the fact this game will probably get traded in a lot once people finds out its nothing special. I might rent it though not convinced its gonna be good just yet, hope I'm proven wrong.
For the fact? The fact that you just pulled out of your ass?
Desperate ploy, mp afterthought to move more units, rental at best.
You do realize pitfall and treasure hunter on atari came out decades before tomb raider right ppl? All games borrow concepts from either movies, real life or other games so i hate when ppl mention that, however its another thing to be a blatant rip off and the mp in tomb raider is just that. I mean lets be serious they have guys that look like drake and sully lol. They have a level that has a sand storm just like in Uc3 and even the graphics in mp are trying to borrow heavily from Uc3.
I suppose this is good news for those that were planning on buying it used but it doesn't really affect me in anyway since I'll be getting it new. I wonder what made them not want to add an online pass.
