Game Informer - 5 Big Changes Coming To Lightning Returns

Game Informer - We got a taste with a trailer last month, but now we have hard facts to back up the speculation surrounding the third and final entry in Lightning's story. After seeing a live demo of the game in action and talking to development team, we noted these five major changes on the way for Square Enix's upcoming RPG. (Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, PS3, Xbox 360)

This is coming out in Autumn? That's 3-5 possible months of Versus XIII Release this year!!!

This is coming out in Autumn? That's 9 months before Versus gets some news again

Just forget about Versus. The optimist in me is really excited for the title, but by blanking it out I am never left disappointed.

Versus is probably for next gen.

Yes it's not even out but hate it because its the cool thing to do. Good logic there bud, why don't you actually play A ff for once that isn't 7. Or actually play 13 and not just jump on the hate train.....blasphemy I know but it's a neat concept.

Dude, most of the people who hate this game played most of the FF's. the 13 series is something that long time fans dont like. I played and beat 13 and 13-2. I still have faith in SE. I might play this game too, but I ran out of hope that this game will be any good. I dont know. . . we will see when it comes out, but so far it looks just like 13 and 13-2 (the two games that left a sour aftertaste).

I don't see it happening, but this being an amazing game would be the ultimate punchline to the entire generation. Make it happen!

I can see it...

Final Fantasy VI was excellent.
Final Fantasy IX was excellent.
Final Fantasy XII was... good enough. (But I thought the story ended way too abruptly... Or just never got into full gear)

Honestly, I feel it all went downhill starting with XIII.

XIII-2 corrected some things, like exploration, locales, and NPCs, but went into desperate waters for the overall story. I really don't know how it would be possible for the team to give us anything close to a satisfying ending. They really, really, really should have stuck to the cocoon / gran pulse duality storyline... That was a good start.

... Naaah, I can't see it I guess.

Oh well, time will tell.

Is it just me or the battle system seems to have taken inspiration from Valkyrie Profile? Not a bad thing, as Valkyrie Profile (esp. 2) had some of the best RPG battles in my humble opinion.

Now, what they'll do with it, that's yet to see...

Come to think of it, if they use XIII-3 as a template or testing waters fr a hypothetical Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist, I'll be a happy gamer.
