Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 developer warns PS3 players of possible disconnects from online games

Treyarch has today informed Playstation 3 owners that online play for the popular shooter, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” may experience intermittent outages throughout the day due to maintenance on the Playstation Network. The developer wants fans to be prepared and understand the reason behind possible lost connections while playing the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” online as a result of the all-day PSN update. No No no....dont blame psn for your bad/laggy connection problems!
miDnIghtEr20C_SfF  +   993d ago
ya, because psn being out for over a day wouldn't mess up your connection to any online games or anything.

Not really if you understood what maintenance does. Plus, Call of Duty is notorious for being the lesser game on PS3 with hit detection issues, lag, and glitches.

I am starting to believe Microsoft Pays Activision to give PS3 a bad CoD port.

youre misinformed, troll harder next time.

Whatever they can place the blame on. /s
Last time it was OUR faults for not forwarding ports. This game lags so bad on PS3 that I am done with OCD....uh I mean COD.

This piece of shit so called "game" is atrocious on the PS3 compared to the 360 version. Every game on the EXACT same connection, gets a MAX of 2 bars and has such a delay almost every time. Game breaking. Yet the 360 suffers that maybe for a second every few games if any.

Oh but it MUST be the PSN. /s
I guess that's where all that Xbox Live money goes to. Paying Activision.

If I ever own another COD, it will be fucking pirated.

That's why COD should only be played on 360... Just sayin'

My brother loves COD but he's just as annoyed with the 360 version. Just because the bars are green doesn't mean there's no lag.

I usually get all green bars on the PS3 version and most of the time it seems fine. Strangely though the worst games always occur playing people from Spain or France, they take so many bullets, it's always these two countries, can't really work out why.

Treyarch is the problem here - crappy net code.

No they are not. It's Activision that's the REAL problem. It's annual cycle rushes the game out, with NO beta. That is a recipe for disaster.

It's rushed and untested.
spicelicka  +   993d ago
how about everyone just stop playing it so they stop with the yearly bullshit. After the 8th freaking game in a row if they haven't fixed this crap then ppl need to stop supporting them.

I disconnected from the entire CoD franchise after MW2. Just sayin :)
TKCMuzzer  +   993d ago
They need to ditch the killcams, they highlight way to many problems and really end up pi##ing me off.

Oh, WTF is a scope with the target finder doing in a game with the most over used aim assist around, it's a joke, whatever happened to skill?......hold on I forgot it's COD, to many moan when they actually have to aim...."Cough, Snipers"..

Sorry its really getting tired....

And this is why I stopped buying COD games after the first Black Ops, the same problems that plagued MW1 are and is still present within all COD games after. Which is extremely, sad/terrible/ridiculous/asinin e/stupid for these problems to still exist after all the titles that were released, and after all of the money that it have/had made...

And this is why I'm... Only in Battlefield...

Problems likely lie within the engine that they have been using since Call of Duty #2? BO2 is #10 I believe. A new engine with PS3 compatibility in mind should fix 90% of the issues overnight. Its not like they couldn't build a new engine and get a better outcome.

They have zero optimization for CoD engine on PS3. They try to hide that fact, but its written all over the game. When they license a new engine one day which I believe they will soon for Next generation development. It will have many fixes and less issues with PS3/PS4.

Seeing that you gave an optimistic response, to what I posted. I may actually give the next COD game try, and this is coming from a gamer that became more and more pessimistic about the COD franchise...
e-p-ayeaH  +   993d ago
Cant wait for next gen to see CoD getting ignored.
venom786  +   993d ago
No lags and problems on wii u.
WeskerChildReborned  +   993d ago
That's because the Wii U isn't the one having maintenance.

Seriously let me just ask this straight up. What the f*ck happened after Modern Warfare 2? The connection in that game was really good and then Black Ops came out and it was night and day when it came to connection. No Call of Duty has ever been the same in terms of connection ever since Modern Warfare 2. Why do you guys f*ck up something you already perfected. AND WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE DEDICATED SERVERS!? Battlefield has dedicated servers and you don't? WTF!
