awesome news

I think this is the second day, something Tales of Graces F didn't do (Not knocking, just comparing to another PS3 exclusive JRPG). So, I hope this means it will get better first week sales and stay at No.1 until release and maybe keep it until the next big PS3/360/Wii U game comes (I know wishful thinking).

Good to know it's getting some recognition. Would be a shame to miss a game like this, especially given the trend the JRPGs have taken this generation. Hopefully this game followed by Versus XIII can energize the JRPG genre
Minato-Namikaze  +   800d ago
@godchild1020 Tales f grace wasnt a Ps3 exclusive, it was a port of the wii game
Snookies12  +   800d ago
@Minato-Namikaze - Actually to be fair, Tales of Graces "f" was indeed exclusive to PS3. It had extra stuff in there, "I believe the future arc hence the "f" if I'm not mistaken."

Regardless, that game is fantastic, people should really give it a go if they haven't. It's a bit slow to get things going story-wise, but I've already got 90+ hours in it. VERY rare that I get that involved in a game.

Ni No Kuni deserves all the atention is getting, it's fresh air
Minato-Namikaze  +   800d ago
My mistake then, but i was thinking about getting grace, but until then ni no kuni day 1
Snookies12  +   800d ago
Nah it's cool, I get what you meant that the original was indeed for the Wii. Regardless, I'm happy it was brought over to the US. As I'm quite happy about Ni No Kuni being brought over as well. :]
Oh_Yeah  +   800d ago
It's the closest thing to a pokemon game on consoles, I expected good numbers from a kickass game like this. Nintendo is slacking on making one so Sony capitalized.

Seems more akin to Persona in my opinion. Although I haven't played the full game yet.
ozzywazzy  +   800d ago
This is fantastic news! This game deserves all the hype it's been getting. So glad I was able to pick up the wizard's edition! That's one limited edition worth buying.
BanBrother  +   800d ago
And you can bet your bottom dollar it will be worth something down the line. Either way, standard or limited you are buying a special experience.

This game has some of the best graphics I have seen, ever. I know, it may not have all that technical crap, but its beauty is a site to behold. Absolutley breathtaking scenery. I have only been wowed by the aesthetics of a game less than a handful of times this gen. Can't wait to pick it up. As I can't imagine how much better it is going to look on my new TV I got a few days ago!!! Long live the JRPG!
papajag  +   800d ago
Glad I got this too. It's like Demons Souls all over again.
Treian  +   800d ago
glad I pre-ordered before it runs out!
-MD-  +   800d ago
No game has ever sold out at launch. Even if you didn't preorder you'll still be able to find copies.
Godmars290  +   800d ago
1 - Strong sales for this game.

2 - JRPG dev community realize they can make "traditional: titles on HD systems.

3 - PROFIT!!!

4 - GAMERS HAVE FUN!!!

(There. Better than underwear gnome logic ;p )
Ranma1  +   800d ago
It is Square Enix which promoted the idea that no one wants traditional jrpgs and that turn based ones are out dated...

funny now that they make some of the worst jrpg's in the indsutry after they followed that belief through
NeXXXuS  +   800d ago
I want more turn based... >:\
Outside_ofthe_Box  +   800d ago
The only thing that I think is out dated is having battles take place on a separate screen. All battles should happen real time in this day and age in my opinion. You can still have Ni no Kuni's type of battle system happening real time in a similar way FF12 battle system was done. I think this is the way JRPGs should go.

What I like most about Ni No Kuni is the over world that JRPG devs felt was dated when HD consoles launched. If Ni No Kuni is successful we should be seeing over worlds making a comeback on consoles. :D

I hope this game sells incredibly well.
Ilovetheps4  +   800d ago
I already have my copy preordered. I preordered at Gamestop. I hope that I get the steelbook because I preordered there. That is the only reason that I preordered the game through them.
vikingland1  +   800d ago
I pre paid for my copy at Gamestop. What is this steelbook you speak of? They never mentioned it to me. Is it every game or a special edition?
Godchild1020  +   800d ago
They should have the steel cases in now. As long as you have preordered, you should get the steel case. Give them a call to make sure.
shammgod  +   800d ago
I was told I would get the steel case when I preordered today
Ilovetheps4  +   799d ago
Well you are quite lucky. I called up there late last night right before they closed. They said they did not get enough steelbooks for everyone. And since I have to work that day, I will most likely not be one of the people who gets a steelbook.
LAWSON72  +   800d ago
Great news too bad i will not be able to get it.
WilliamH  +   800d ago
I could barely afford to pre order it myself, if I had the money I would buy it for you.
Julie  +   800d ago

Yes, it's probably going to sell for even more in a few months.
rezzah  +   800d ago
I heard they released the Wizard edition again recently. Not sure if that was when you tried to get your copy...If not then you can try again.

Their are other sites i recall seeing selling the same edition (months ago).

But they were from the UK. Who knows maybe they can ship to your country unless you live there.
KiRBY3000  +   800d ago
you could always get the wizard edition from amazon france. it has english and japanese audio with subtitles too.

its roughly 120$, so 20$ more than the namco store.
Julie  +   800d ago
Ohhh that is nice also the thingies like the book are in english? and does it include the paintings?

Sorry for too many questions but if it includes all that and in english and they ship to USA i will insta buy and insta be very happy! :D

@rezzah yes they did today but they sold em all very fast and i was at work :(

I've got two Wizard Editions on my way and preordered one at GameStop to get the steelbook edition. It's gonna be a great title.
Acquiescence  +   800d ago
Absolutely deserves it...
It does my heart good to see a crtically-acclaimed JRPG, one that's quintessentially Japanese and starring a young, innocent looking boy as the protagonist, so in demand with consumers. Maybe there's hope for niche games in this industry after all.
Clarence  +   800d ago
I hope people get out and support
ApolloTheBoss  +   800d ago
I'm one of those folks.
DivineAssault  +   800d ago
great job.. I pre ordered elsewhere but thats good.. Hopefully it will encourage more devs n pubs to localize more JRPGs in the west
jwk94  +   800d ago
this was already posted.
animegamingnerd  +   800d ago
good with seeing that last story and xneoblade sold and ni no kuni being the top pre order game hopefully now we get a lot more JRPG'S and some can finally snap some sense into square enix that JRPG'S never died
Chrono  +   800d ago
The sales will probably be good enough to convince Namco to release more RPGs like Tales of Xillia 2 or Vesperia PS3.
