I for one liked the staggering.
It's what made the system fun at all.

or they can completely redo the battle system and make to where you don't have to almost always stagger an opponent to win. Final Fantasy VIII had the best battle system IMO simply because elements we're almost always the key to defeating monsters in battle. Stagger is just silly. i understand that certain monsters in XIII staggered more easily to magical attacks and others to physical attacks but there wasn't really a challenge at all with just button mashing the same attacks over and over. I can't say the same about XIII-2 since I never actually played it but I heard that it was a lot better.

Staggering was the one good thing they did with the battle system. Its what gave the battling any form of 'challenge'. Though using that term lightly mind you.
