Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Review | Spong

Spong: "Only the child-like themes and the plentiful online assistance give it a way as a learner RPG. But its lovingly crafted game world and beautiful graphics make it one that older gamers will love to play too. This gorgeous-looking game offers a great introduction to Role Playing Games, while delivering a huge and immersive experience for lovers of the genre."

The story is too old to be commented.

Keep 'em coming, keep 'em coming.

Meta has Game Informer giving this game a 70% but those bastards don't have their review up yet. It's as if one company gets tasked to be the douche review company. Once it was IGN. Then Edge, and Eurogamer had it for a while, and then Destructoid. Most recently it was Gamespot. Now it seems to be GI.

Gamekult and NowGamer are still king of idiocy.

yea back in like 2006-2008 GI was decently legit. Now they praise mediocre games and give weird scores to obviously good/great games.

This isn't the only example of this.

With GI being owned by Gamestop, you shouldn't be surprised.

Yeah me too. Its only been 1 hr since I last played it. Phew seems like forever

could you name a bunch?
Not trying to be rude, but I would like to play more JRPGS, and simply don't know where to look.

Valkyria Chronicles is still the best looking and best of all time this gen IMO.

Once again IMO.

I can't believe there isn't a proper sequel to that game (psp versions were meh)

They were good, but lacked the overall polish the console version had. The PSPs limitaions showed in abundance.

Battle fields were split in a jarring manner to accommodate the lack of memory to handle too many on screen models at once.

The gameplay would obviously have to be better, but I missed having a ton of players on the field at once. Every time I started and finished a battle I was left thinking, "I wonder how this would have looked on Ps3?"

EDIT: who marked you as spam? wtf??

There has been many quality JRPGs for the PS3 this gen but many if not all of them are not how you say 'high profile' or brand recognizable as Ni no Kuni can be.

This gen JRPGs has gone back to how they were perceived in the past as 'niche' or audience specific. This gen's audience has been very attached to the action/shooter games & thus the JRPG has been relegated to being the 'odd man out' unfortunatley.

I've enjoyed the Atelier games, Valkyria Chronicles, WKC, and Tales of Graces F, to say the least. And unlike a lot of people, I also had quite a bit of fun- and a fair share of frustration- with FFXIII. Star Ocean wasn't bad, and Nier is superb.

For me, the best JRPGs so far this gen- on consoles- have been Valkyria Chronicles and Nier, with Lost Odyssey somewhere in there as like a 2.5.
