Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Review | EuroGamer

EuroGamer: "It's a world where pretty fantasy archetypes clothe heartfelt domestic drama, and where outlandish cartoon creations sit at the heart of an engrossing game, infusing it with their exotic charm. Ni no Kuni wears its Studio Ghibli inheritance as lightly as Oliver does his little red magician's cloak, transporting us from one universe to another with the wave of a wand."

Too bad i could never get into jrpgs unless we count "Heroes" as jrpg

I'm not a jrpg fan (although I seem to get every jrpg game), but I am really looking forward to this one based on who is involved and the great scores it has received.

another great score. wtf is up with metacritic under-tracking this game though, average wise?! the avg -should- be a 86 not 84 http://www.metacritic.com/g...

The 8 scores up right now add up to 689. Divide by 8 = 86...not 84. Add the Eurogamer score on there and it's still an 86 avg. Wtf lol, an aggregate that can't do simple math?

Even though they weigh certain sites higher, IGN's is one of the highest NiNoKuni scores and meta weights. With only one 70/100 and five 87 or higher, there's nothing to justify dragging this down 2 extra 'just because' points. Especially after they add Eurogamer's 9/10 and Edge's 8/10.

I hope the developers don't have 85% avg bonuses ala Fallout riding on some moron at metacritic who can't do grade school math. They even said, a sequel is weighing entirely on this game's success. Shady biz.

i remember this happening to other games.

the "weight" of certain reviewers of their choice allows metacritic to basically adjust the overall rating a few points higher or lower. and there is no way to verify the math cause the weighed scores are undisclosed.

this way, they can make a 85 become an 83 or an 87 and nobody knows whats up.
