Dishonored’s use of tired storytelling devices shows that game narratives are stale

Arkane Studios' Dishonored was a much needed new IP in a gaming climate reluctant to take risks but its use of certain narrative devices has re-ignited my qualms with the formulaic nature of certain conventions. (Arkane Studios, BioShock, Dishonored, Industry, PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

You could have gotten a ton more views if you used the title "Dishonored's Narrative is Stale". With what you have, I have little reason to even click the link. So I will not.

i just bought it after hearing a lot of great things, i know story is one of the weakest areas but i think the sequel will really improve on that. a lot of times many big games 1st game is always more of a tech demo to show you what the developers are trying to do.

as long as the gameplay is fun i am willing to overlook a weak story

2 games i bought and both have weak stories lol,

The gameplay was awesome though, I had loads of fun playing Dishonored, even though I didnt really know fully what the game was about

Dishonored's story really did suck...
The silent protagonist just isn't acceptable in this day and age.

I'd argue that some protagonists would be better off mute.
