Dishonored’s use of tired storytelling devices shows that game narratives are stale

Arkane Studios' Dishonored was a much needed new IP in a gaming climate reluctant to take risks but its use of certain narrative devices has re-ignited my qualms with the formulaic nature of certain conventions.

You could have gotten a ton more views if you used the title "Dishonored's Narrative is Stale". With what you have, I have little reason to even click the link. So I will not.

i just bought it after hearing a lot of great things, i know story is one of the weakest areas but i think the sequel will really improve on that. a lot of times many big games 1st game is always more of a tech demo to show you what the developers are trying to do.

as long as the gameplay is fun i am willing to overlook a weak story

The gameplay was awesome though, I had loads of fun playing Dishonored, even though I didnt really know fully what the game was about
