Is the Cyberpunk trailer sexist? We ask women gamers what they actually think

The release last week of the much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 trailer from CD Projekt RED sparked a number of comments and discussions online about whether or not the trailer was sexist towards women, or maybe even misogynistic in nature.

Rather than adding to the white noise of “here’s what a man thinks about issues affecting women”, we decided to go right to the source and ask a bunch of women gamers, game developers and games media what they thought about CD Projekt RED’s latest trailer. (Culture, Cyberpunk 2077, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Everyone will be different. My sister and Gf didn't find it sexist at all. But that does not mean that other women won't.

You can made drama out of everything, some people can be easily offended, may it be sexisms, religion or political views.

I find your statement about people being offended offensive.

why is it sexist? This is getting retarded, look at all the games that have guys with huge muscles and shirtless. Its hypocritical.

men are different then womens . you cant make them equal on this kind of thing..

it's like saying if men can take off shirt then womens can do it too which is wrong . womens must have some kind of protection for her thinking and mens doesn't get effected and imagine things then end up doing something wrong . this thing in all religions and even if you dont believe in anything you will feel it's wrong..

in my religion if this game effect my feelings then i cant play it . if not then it's ok . same with movies or even songs ( music is ok in my religion :) ) ..

just saying my opinion . i know you guys live different then me so dont take it as offensive or anything like that ^^

The game is revolving around a genetically-enhanced society, through upgrades, including COSMETIC upgrades. Of course everyone is going to look like a perfect model, now find something else to argue about.

To be honest, the fact that it might have another short haired, caucasian main character is much more alarming than the female character. If she was the mains character (like Ghost in the Shell), that'd be awesome. But another generic guy?

Btw, I don't understand why it's sexist because the girl is kinda hot. All female characters in films and tv are hot or somewhat pretty. And like someone said above, it's supposed to be some kind of cyborg.

IMO the most sexist thing in our society is feminism, it's amazing how it exists in the XXI century.

Lets be honest, if your a female gamer you are going to be as desensitized to sexism as you can possibly get.

What does it say about men when its assumed we can't look beyond or see something more than a scantily clad fem-bot?

Yea, sex sells, when it comes to males. But not all of us are like the moron above me. We are capable of seeing very different things. We are willing to be challenged.

I studied 3d animation so I was too busy looking at the CG. Beyond that, I saw a story that I wanted to know more about.
