CES 2013: Nvidia Tegra 4, Project SHIELD Gaming Console Hands On, First Impressions @ CPCR

CPCR: "For most CES attendees, Project SHIELD was locked away behind a glass cage, but luckily I was able to get some intimate behind the closed doors hands on time with the unit itself. Nvidia had a couple demo units for Michael and I to play with – two set up to run games via the Android interface and one for streaming games from a demo PC." (Android, Mobile, NVIDIA, Tech)

Na me neither, horrid design imo.

It's way to big, controller is so much 360 as well.

I'm more interested with what Samsung showed at ces with the bendy screens.

i like the concept, having a REAL controller and a big-enough screen to play big (non-handheld) games.

i own a vita and though the graphics are awesome, i find that the screen is just a bit too small to enjoy uncharted golden abyss.

Still i love my vita and will probably not buy project shield (it all depends on the games), but the concept is promising.

if you want to game get a mid-high end gaming laptop, or just a gaming desktop.

I feel my PSvita is great for portability and games, not to mention it can play Youtube and other apps 3DS doesn't even have. My 3DS is only somewhat playable, slide pad literally has no grip and it starts to hurt because of the shape of it.. Vita has rounded comfortable sides like the PSP.

I think the 3DS XL should be far nicer to hold than the small version, I'm quite interested in it. But having a Vita, I struggle to justify it.

I have a few games on my Vita, it does have at least a handful of very good games so far but needs more. I think the price is justified in it's graphical ability over the 3DS.

Not saying 3DS doesn't have any good games because it does, but i really like the Vita.

Yeah, I have loads of games on my Vita. I struggle to finish all of them. And I think the price is right too.

I have a vita and a 3ds but upgrading to the xl for the same reason 3ds screen is too small and the size cramps my hands after a few hours, I have massive hands and most controllers and portables feel small even the vita, its wide enough but hasnt got a lot of hight or depth fella really uncomfortable especaily when trying not to touch the rear touch pad. I'm getting board of my vita at the moment only keeping it because it has mgs hd coleection and golden abbys I love them games.

it looks so bulky for a handheld, looks like a mutant neogeo.
