Splinter Cell Blacklist's Release Date Hints at Next-Gen Timing

Sam Fisher's next outing is due August 20 - for current-gen consoles. So what does it suggest about when we can expect Xbox 720 and PS4?

The story is too old to be commented.

I guess the month of release can mean something, but why such a long delay? That delay could also mean that there isn't new consoles coming. It's pure speculation for now, right?

I'm really liking the new Splinter Cell trailer.

I agree it could mean either. It could also mean the game is no where near ready.

I think if it is a next gen game it will look like a current gen game just on a new system and on old systems as well

I'd wager a hefty sum that it has something to do with Spies vs. Mercs.

They want to make sure it's polished overall, but making sure the single most fan-requested feature for YEARS is ship-shape has to be a major concern.

Well imo nxt gen will start in early 2014, feb/march time for Europe/US if not then were looking after the summer so maybe september/October 2014.

It's hard to say really. You'd think that if the new consoles don't come out at the end of this year, they would come out at the end of next year, as surely MS and Sony would want their console primed and ready right before Christmas, the time of year when money comes second to gifts/happiness from material things.

Either way,I'll be getting both, but the 2nd one to come out might need to wait a bit that is all.

Wow. I already came up with this conclusion and posted it yesterday. Look at my history and read my comment from yesterday about why I think ubisoft delayed splinter cell. These guys at ign read my comment can made a story about it. What a shame.
