Ubisoft Explains Splinter Cell: Blacklist Delay, Game Arrives in Europe on August 22nd

Rather than just sitting back and not telling us why Splinter Cell: Blacklist was pushed away from the Spring 2013 release window, Alex Parizeau, Senior Producer on Sam Fisher’s next adventure, explained why we won’t get the game until August 20th in North America and August 22nd in Europe.

Smart move by Ubisoft. With so many games being released between January and June, Splinter Cell: Blacklist wasn't getting any hype or attention. Might as well delay it and release it during the "light in game releases" month of August, probably just before the new consoles.

I have a felling that more games are going to be delayed to August or September.

Some websites have MGS Ground Zeroes coming out in September. So I'd rather save my money for that. Plus we should know if that release date is true by August anyway.

I used to like Splinter Cell, but the new one looks like some hyper active mess, a far cry from the careful, calculating stealth of the series's past. Just because it has the same publisher as the past games, doesn't mean it has the same developers.

Keep that in mind as you watch preview vids for this new game's style of play.

I guess it doesn't matter too much so long as its out before next-gen hardware in the fall. Hopefully this means there are actually great games to play this Summer.

My Birthday :) Although I might pass and just wait for next gen hardware and not get this :/ depends on backwards compatibility really...

Yeah but it's almost the final week of August. The next week is gonna be stiff competition in September/Fall releases.
