Analysts discuss whether Nintendo may have to go platform agnostic in the next-gen console cycle
OMG , Nintendo posted their first ever loss last year :O . Analyst's are so fu^king stupid. LOOK AT THEM 3DS SALES!!! LOOK AT THEM!!!! Correct me of I am wrong but it's the fastest selling game device so far within 1.5 years of being out. Nintendo has it planned out - 3DS- 100M+ after 6 years = Great success , Wiiu - 50M+ after 6 years = great success. The Wii was cheaper and full of shovelware. With wiiu you sense Nintendo is trying their hardest to change that. Same with 3DS , both are much higher quality devices than what the DS and Wii were when they launched. You have to lose some to win some , ask Sony .... oh wait...
Dude, was that jab at Sony really needed at the end...? -___-
Lol you wanna look at software sales? This tends to suggest a different story. "The Wii was cheaper and full of shovelware. With wiiu you sense Nintendo is trying their hardest to change that. Same with 3DS , both are much higher quality devices than what the DS and Wii were when they launched." Straight up laughed at this. What quality titles are on the Wii U? It's funny because all I see are rehashed sequels, multiplats, and shovelware with the games they have out now. Or are you going to try and convince me that Wii Fit U, Rayman, and Mario are not more of the same along with other casual titles. They're both higher quality devices. I love how you compared them with previous Nintendo consoles because if you didn't they would be considered crap. Seven year old hardware will not suffice this generation. Gamers want something NEW when a next-gen console comes out.
You mean rehashed sequels that were also on the 360 and PS3? I love this double standard that these games are only good on those respective platforms and not on Nintendo's first HD console. lol Rayman is more of the same? Are you for real? Compare Legends to Rayman 2 and Raving Rabbids and get back to me, genius.
I'm sorry has Sony or Microsoft remade a title for over 25 years? No, don't think so. I love how Nintendo innovates with their HD 2D platformers, it really pushes the envelope wouldn't you agree? What a joke. What's similar about all of those games? They lack content and are not appealing to the hardcore gamer.
Mario Galaxy is not a remake of Super Mario Bros. Zelda Skyward Sword is not a remake of Ocarina of Time. Metroid Prime 3 is not a remake of the original Metroid. Stop it. Those games are in the same series, but they're nothing like their predecessors outside of theme and formula. Now if you want to talk about remakes on Sony/Microsoft platforms, there's Sony's HD collections and Microsoft's HD remake of Halo Combat Evolved. How the blue hell is Mario Galaxy, the flagship Mario game of the Wii, a 2D platformer? Same goes for Skyward Sword. Are you talking about New Super Mario Bros. U? How do you take that as the primary Mario game of the Wii U? Are you for real? "They lack content" No. Just no. Mario Galaxy 2 had a ton of stars to collect, over twice as many as the first Galaxy. Skyward Sword was also a 30+ hour game. An additional 10+ hours if you did all of the side quests. NSMBU has the standard eight worlds in it. You never complained about this in previous iterations in the game, did you? Who am I kidding. You're a guy who clearly hates Nintendo games and yet you go out of your way to blast Nintendo related articles.
Doesn't your knees hurt ?
No it isn't they reported at the end of 2011 that they had lost over close to 1 billion. I am sure it won't get any better but who isn't losing money right now? Pretty much everyone is in the gaming industry, not the mobile apps.. I don't consider that to be apart of the gaming industry.. When the only thing it's helping is phones and tablets.. Don't know where you have been probably just on N4G I suppose slopping up all the nonsense.
Nintendo making software for other hardware, I seen an article like this before but instead of nintendo it was Sony.
i like the idea of digital titles being available at the same time as retail. But i don't get the whole, "Nintendo is DOOMED" trend going on in this site. Like Nintendo needs saving or something. What's up with that?
It's a wonderful way to generate hits is what is going on.
Trolls and fanboys. It actually used to be worse. You'd see comments about how stupid and foolish people were buying any sort of Nintendo products and they would get quite a few agrees even when compared to the disagrees. I haven't seen too much of anything that bad lately, but there is still some silliness on this website, especially in regards to Nintendo. Thankfully, every now and again I see at least one more like minded, open minded or even just respectful people commenting around here. That's pretty much what prevents me from just up and leaving in spite of the stupidity lol.
lol analyst...dnt they mean haters...these people have it in for nintendo for making so much profits with the wii and for the wii winning last generation....obviously they bet on the wrong horses...now they are hating on a fantastic wiiu system
