Entries for MGS V: The Phantom Pain have appeared on PlayAsia – are they the same game?

After all this time and evidence this website still doesn't believe The Phantom Pain is an MGS game? About it being a subtitle, maybe.

Hey there Gill. I wrote the article, so I wanted to comment on your thoughts. I didn't think it was a new IP, but a different game in the MGS universe. Where and how - I wasn't sure. But I wasn't convinced that MGSV and The Phantom Pain were the same. This listing pushes me towards believing they're the same, but, until Kojima announces it officially, I'll be skeptic.

I don't think the article mentions a new IP anywhere, so, if that was confusing, I apologize!

Oh, no problem. The line that confused me was the following:

It only really confused me because the picture of the cropped in Metal Gear Solid V into the screen cap of The Phantom Pain has been around since the VGAs.

That to me looks like the guys at play asia based their information off the rumours. The image is that one that was edited by NeoGAF users. I suspect PlayAsia know as much as we do, and have just assumed.

kojima always does this, He never releases a game the following year, all his games last for 2-3years before the next one comes out, MGS:5 will change online gaming.
