Wii U’s 2013 lineup looks a bit barren thus far

NE: "Let’s take a look at the Wii U’s Japanese lineup for 2013. Only three games have confirmed dates – Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2, Tank! Tank! Tank! (already released on the eShop), and Need for Speed: Most Wanted." (Wii U)

Third parties are being stubborn and want to ignore the Wii U just like the Wii; Nintendo will once again have to handle the burden of supplying games for the system.

Even if that were true it will have enough games to satisfy me. I have no doubt that there will be a new Metroid, Mario Kart, Fzero, 3-D mario, Zelda, and some sick ass new IP's. BTW, Dragon Quest X and Monster Hunter look like they could be really awesome.

Problems is, when will those titles come out? See thats the big problem right their and Monster Hunter is just the old one for Wii in HD (Which I preorder because I hate how bad it looks on the Wii).

They need some good titles fast and not ones leftover from other consoles.

I don't think it is necessarily about third parties ignoring the Wii U.

We can argue about specs all day, but maybe third parties received dev kits to far along into the development of some of their announced games.

I wouldn't worry, I'm sure that there will be plenty of third party games announced throughout the year.

I think it comes down to Nintendo's recent tactic of not announcing games until they are far enough along in development.

The only exception to that tactic was the new Smash Bros, and that was only to salvage a horrible E3.

I've missed out on a lot of HD games
For a person like myself; the Wii U's lineup is pretty decent. PS3/360 owners can withstand without purchasing a Wii U (Though ZombiU is really awesome).

Whenever the high profile exclusives drop, they might become more intrigued.

Most certainly we will see very interesting releases in Q3/Q4 of which we just don't know yet. Nintendo surely knows about its situation and they won't let 2013 pass without a big bang at some point.

Just wait and stop crying like babies the system is/will keep selling and there are good games coming out in early 2013 to maybe mid 2013 but after that no one knows what's coming out and then when nintendo pulls out some of their 1st party titles everyone will still bitch shit I would rather them take their time lije they always have been

Sadly, Nextbox & PS4 will have released before Wii U really gets up to speed....

And most will agree it's almost certain Wii U's under powered compared to what MS/Sony will put out, so IMO Wii U really should have released Holiday 2011 instead of 2012...that way we'd have seen more games and more of what the Wii U could do by now.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with Nintendo! ...still stuck in the past, they've lost that zeal they had back in the 90's.

They have failed (again) to attract significant 3rd party support, but if you're happy to play Nintendo's (old hat) franchises remade over and over again good for you!

*Fully expect Nintendo fanboys to disagree, but everyone else should show some common sense ;)

mmmm. I think there is a good amount of games coming this year doesn't look barron at all.

Pikmin 3,Lego City , Monster Hunter Ultimate , Wonderfull 101 , Bayonetta 2 , Rayman Legends , Game and Wario , Wii fit U , Aliens colonial Marines , NFSMW , The walking dead , Fist of the north star 2 , an unanounced Square enix game , an unanounced Team ninja game , Unanounced Monolith soft game (may be 2014 for that) , Possible resident evil game or what ever ONM teases.

The 2013 line up for wiiu is not even a third complete. Ofcourse there is gunna be a shit ton of games anounced soon for the wiiu.

Nintendo had an opportunity to release something truly ground breaking in the follow up to Wii...instead they give us Wii U HD.

Wii U has the most mediocre list of games I ever seen...not one of Wii U's games is a MUST HAVE..all I could live without...merely mid grade titles.

Where's GTA5? Where's Crysis 3? Far Cry 3 even?

They sold Wii U owners a Super Nes Mario game in HD and a slow plodding cumbersome unattractive Zombie game which isn't anything to worry about missing out on.

I'm not saying Wii U won't have any good games, i'm saying that nobody but Nintendonuts will care...the 3rd party support is lacking for Nintendo...Wake up Wake Wake up!

Somebody has to tell it how it is ....

sway_z, thats your opinion. I'm really looking forward to lots of the games in that list, and I could care less for Crysis 3. Thats the most overhyped generic franchise this gen besides cod. Though 3rd party support needs to improve, I could honestly do without. The legacy of the 64 is based on a few super awesome titles, and I'd be satisfied if that were the same case on the Wii U.

This is just like the Gamecube launch all over again.

I bought a WiiU for my kids so they are happy with Nintendoland and Mario, but if i had bought it for me then i would be pissed off with the lack of games or even release dates for stuff like Pikmin or Wonderful 101.

Give it a year.
sprinterboy  +   834d ago
Game developers are hard at work on nxt gen titles for MS and Sony imo which cant be played on Wii U due to hardware limitations just saying. Wii U will be a great system but they will suffer from the third party support again like the Wii imo.

Yes there's a drought in WiiU games news, but most of you here are very overdramatic... Nintendo does need to make some kind announcements soon, but they aren't going to play their cards to early for both Sony and Microsoft to counter before e3 is even close by.
